As I browsed the shelves of Superdrug, I found a nail colour kept catching my eye - it was the beautiful cobalt blue, the nail polish is question was the shade Peace Out by the brand Lottie London. As it was unlike any other shade in my much too large nail polish collection and it was only £2.99 (originally £5.99 but had been reduced), of course, I had no second thoughts popping it in my basket. However somewhere in the back of my mind, I found myself thinking I'm probably not going to wear this too much, it's a bit of a statement colour, no wonder I don't already own something similar. I had put this nail polish buy down to being in a bit of a strange mood, that I felt like making a statement with my nail colour (I know, it's just a blue nail polish it's not that big of a deal, but what can I say, I'm an over thinker). When I applied the  colour, I realised strange mood or not, I was attracted to the colour, because, guess what? I like the colour. My strange mood didn't have all that much to do with it, although I expect it will be a colour which is reapplied when a similar mood strikes.

When I got home I excitedly painted my nails. The colour applied evenly and it just needed two fine coats to cover the nails completely. 

Once my nails were painted, that was it, I was in love with this nail polish. There's a slightly purple tinge to the blue colour, and the colour sits somewhere between being dark and bright. The shade is neutral enough that it can be practically worn with any outfit but slightly unconventional so that it would also add a subtle statement to an outfit. 

At the low price, I didn't anticipate the longest wearability for the nail polish, however, with a good top coat, there was nowhere near as much chipping as I'd expected, it lasted a good few days before the chipping began. Of course, as the shade is far from the most subtle colour when the chipping did start, it looked awful and I had to either touch up or  removed the colour.

Overall I'd definitely recommend this nail colour is fancy picking up a new shade, I think this colour is beyond beautiful (and almost matches my bathroom tiles exactly - that's always a plus, isn't it?). The quality is great considering the low price point, and I think my nails look pretty cool.

The lighter of the pair is the shade Kissed from the Barry M Coconut Infused Nail Polish range. This is a really easy to wear nude. It's not too dark, not too light, not too brown toned and not too pink toned. It's a very middle of the road nude which I think suits my pale skin tone and makes my nails looking very healthy and polished (pun not intended). I also love the formula of these Barry M Coconut Infused Nail Polish. They're nice to apply, dry fairly quickly, they're pretty long lasting, and they're good for your nails. Plus they're also inexpensive. I'd definitely recommend giving this nail polish a go. 

I often find myself scrolling through twitter, or Instagram, not really sure how I ended up on my phone, and if I really think about it, there is a lot of time I spend on my phone aimlessly being nosey and attempting to feel connected - which ironically I think makes me feel quite disconnected with myself. Also with the many perfect Instagrams, and snapchat stories which are pretty much #goals, it can sometimes be hard to not find me feeling envious and slightly saddened.

However recently I have been trying to spend a bit of time away from my mobile, and enjoy time without it, not thinking about why I've had no reply from someone who's seen my WhatsApp message, and finding other ways to fill my time, things which actually make me feel good about myself and things I'll remember doing  (rather than scrolling through my phone and thinking oh shit when did it become 10pm, I've achieved nothing this evening)

Each night I have been setting an alarm for an hour later and putting my phone on airplane mode. Somedays I've been desperate to have signal again by the time that alarms gone off,  and other days I have decided to keep the silence a little longer. But every day I've had a least an hour of airplane mode (and I've steered clear of social media on my laptop too in this time). It's surprising how much I go to reach for my phone in this time out of habit, it's really showed me how much I really used it.

Of course, I have been looking ways to fill this space. I have found myself falling in love with reading again. I've always been a massive bookworm, but my love for reading kind of went on holiday as I constantly found myself 'too busy' to read. I reading gives your mind time to step away from your life and think about something else. I have also found myself reading magazines more recently. I have fallen in love with Darling magazine - I think it's so beautiful. Sometimes I enjoy just flicking through the pages and appreciating the stunning photography and typography. Reading quotes. I'm a big fan of quotes and word. When I don't fancy reading long paragraphs I'll just look and segments and think about what the words mean to me.

Adult colouring books are a great way to spend time, they don't take much concentration or hard work, yet they somewhat free your mind (well they do mine), I find them to be quite therapeutic, especially if I'm feeling creative, yet although inspired, still lazy. Plus, you end up with a pretty picture once you finish. Win win.

It's a pink shade with a slight shimmer to it. It's a fairly muted pink, so it isn't too overpowering. I think it's perfect for a simple pretty nail. The formula is really is great too, it glides over the nail easily, is fairly fast drying and you can get away with just one coat if you're in a rush. 

Sorry I couldn't resist the Mean Girls reference!

... as I was saying, today it's the 3rd of October, which means September has drawn to a close, very swiftly might I add, it feels like September was over before it began, not that I am complaining, I love that it is beginning to feel more like Autumn!

Not only does the end of September mean it's now October, but it also means it is time for September favourites!

I have also made a video on this which is currently uploading to my (very new) youtube channel (which you can find here), once the video has uploaded I will share it on my blog.

At the start of September, I decided to splash out and buy myself an SLR camera, as I have been itching to start my own youtube channel, wanted to be able to take better photos for my blog, and I have a holiday to India booked, on which I plan to save as many photographic memories as possible! 

Of course, at the time I was only working part-time so this did result in me having very little money the rest of the month, therefore the rest of my favourites through the month were things I have rediscovered amongst my collection.

My first favourite of the month is, of course, my new camera. I decided to get a Nikon D3200 as it was more in my price range than a lot of the other cameras and it seemed like a good option to get started on. I'm still fairly new to photography and filming, but I'm definitely enjoying experimenting with it and learning how to use my camera properly.

Since I dyed my hair darker earlier in September I have found myself reaching for an old lipstick of mine which previously went untouched. It's the shade Eros by Calvin Klein. I'd describe the colour as a berry shade with a blue undertone. The shade is more subtle than a lot of berry shade lipsticks, it isn't too dark or too bright. I think this shade is perfect for the cooler months as it has a warm autumnal vibe to it without being too drastic. 

Earlier this month I bought myself Tanya Burr Ridding Hood nail polish, as I felt stressed and in need of a treat (blog post here) and ever since I have been wearing the shade on my nails almost constantly, it's a deep red colour which is perfect for this time of year. 

On my face I have been using my Zoeva Sunpower pallet a lot during September, this palette has a range of different blush and bronzer shades, to be honest, I haven't experimented with the bronze shades much yet, however, I have fallen in love with all of the blush shades, so many pretty colours, and they are all so pigmented. 

I've been using the blush brush from my Zoeva bamboo brush set (more on these brushes here) to apply these blushes, and I've also been really loving the brush, it is the perfect shape and size for blush and it's so soft on the skin.

For a while now I have been using the False Lash Effect Mascara by Maxfactor in brown-black, but only recently I've really begun to notice a vast improvement in my eyelashes, I think maybe the mascara is slightly better once it's dried out a little. Either way, my eyelashes are looking better than ever (I don't have the greatest eyelashes so this is the best news)

To wash my face in the evening I have been using my Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash, and I can not help but notice how much softer my skin has felt since. I feel it has made my skin feel really healthy.

Also on my face, I have been using the Superdrug Hydrating Face Mask (similar linked) during the evenings when my skin has been feeling a little dry, and the next day my skin feels so much more moisturised and healthy. 

These are just some bits and bobs I have been appreciating the past month.

Recently I haven't quite been feeling myself, I am not going to go into much detail. Let's just say I have been feeling a little more sensitive than usual, after having a day feeling as though I was going to burst into tears every five minutes despite for no particular reason I decided I was in need of a little treat and pamper. 

Completely ignoring my spending ban, I headed to The Mall as soon as I finished work. 

As I am supposed to be saving money and my bank account isn't looking too healthy as it is,  I wanted to treat myself, without it hurting my bank account too much.

I decided to have a look around for something some bits to go towards having a much needed pamper evening.

After looking around the shops for a while I settle on buying myself two little bits, first off in Lush I got myself an Amandopondo bubble bar slice in Lush,  and then I picked up Ridding Hood Nail Paint by Tanya Burr from Superdrug.

Being a big fan of Tanya Burr, I have been admiring her nails as I've been watching her fashion week vlogs, - which happened to be the Ridding Hood Shade from her range.
