Week Off Work To Do List...
Friday 27 January 2017
I decided to book a last-minute week off work next week, as it was all getting a bit much, and I felt the need for a bit of chill time. Obviously, I want my week off to be as productive as possible, however, as well as getting all of my boring errands done - you know, go to the bank, book a doctor's appointment, the usual stuff we tend to push to the side because we're busy working, I also want to make sure I do some stuff just for me - all the stuff I intend to make time for, but never do - the things that sometimes feel a little to time indulgent to be doing when you're working full time and have a to-do list as long as your arm anytime you're out of the office.
- Paint - I love painting, and I got back into it a few months back, however, the painting which I've been working on has gone untouched for weeks, I'm going to make sure I dedicate some time to finishing my painting.
- Take my camera for a walk - I have a growing love for photography, but I rarely take pictures with no end goal, they're usually for the blog - I'm going to go outside with my camera and take some pictures for the sake of taking pictures.
- Read - I already read plenty, but I can always read more.
- Scrapbook - I bought a scrapbook and photo album months ago with the plan to go through my book of photos, put them in the scrapbook and photo album and really sort them. It has been months, and my box of photos, my photo album and scrapbook are still sat under my bed untouched.
- Have a lie-in - I mean I occasionally have a lie-in on Sundays - but I always set an alarm - I think I have a fear I won't wake up until evening or something. But I'm going to turn off my alarm and have a proper lie-in (I'm excited for this!)
- Bake - I'm awful at baking but my rare attempts are always fun so I'm going to attempt to cook up something yummy.
- Spend the day with my mum - my Mum is my favourite person, but we rarely spend the day together, so we're going to go out shopping together which I'm excited about.
- Vlog - I think I'm going to vlog the week! I've never done a weekly vlog before, but I really enjoy vlogging so I'm going to film my week.
Now I've got my list together, I'm super excited to have a week off work to concentrate on myself a little bit!

Pink to Make the Boys, or Girls Wink...
Thursday 26 January 2017
As promised, today I am bringing you an eye makeup look which I created using my Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette (full review here).
I've been enjoying using pinks shades on my eyes a lot recently, so I felt most excited to see the looks I could create with the bright pinks in my new Urban Decay Palette.
For this eye look used the shades Paranoia, Alchemy and Gossip on my eyelids, with Paranoia in the inner corner, and Gossip and Alchemy further out. I brought the shade Warning up through the crease to create a transition shade, and used a smidge of Iced and Bump in the inner corners to add that bit of inner corner highlight. To finish it off I used both the shades Paranoia and Gossip along my bottom lash line, and of course, used my trusty Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen to create winged eyeliner and the amazing Maybelline Lash Sensational on the lashes.
I love this look. I think the pink eye shadow actually makes my boring brown eyes pop, and the shades really suit me. I think this may become a go-to makeup look for me!
What do you think? I'm definitely enjoying being braver with my eye makeup!

Zazu's Kitchen...
Tuesday 24 January 2017
My friend Hannah and I, recently spent the day wandering along Gloucester Road - despite living the Bristol, I rarely explore the area, so it was a great way to spend the day. We stopped at the cutest place for some brunch.
We both eyed up the adorable outdoor seating area as we were passing. We were drawn in by the fairy lights, lanterns, and blankets - so we decided Zazu's Kitchen would be perfect for brunch.
When we headed inside, I noticed it was fairly busy and there was a good atmosphere! We must have hit the lunchtime rush, as there were not many dining tables for a while, but we were more than happy to sit in the window at the coffee table catching up over a berry and hibiscus tea.
We both ordered a breakfast - vegetarian for myself, and Hannah went for full English and got moved to a larger table as it began to quieten down. The service was quick, but there was a slight wait to move tables - but that was only due to the busy time of day - our food was actually fast to arrive considering the busy time, and it was also yummy! The didn't skimp on the veggie option, which is always good news!
The food was good, the atmosphere was good, the prices were good, and in my case the company was good! I'd definitely recommend popping into Zazu's Kitchen if you looking for somewhere grab a bite to eat in Bristol.Love, C x

Face Masks.
Monday 23 January 2017
Recently I've gone a little face mask crazy! As my skin has not been looking its greatest, I've been trying different face masks in hope to sort it out, whilst having a bit of a pamper!
So here's the lowdown on some of the masks I've been trying...
Another green mask I have is from Lush. It's the Love Lettuce mask which is one of their fresh face masks which you keep it in the fridge - so it's always cool when you apply it and I have a feeling it also has an expiry date, which is something to be aware of. You can tell from the texture and the smell this is an all-natural mask, which honestly, I both like and dislike. The texture of it is quite lumpy and grainy so it doesn't feel all that nice to put onto your skin, I also dislike the scent - some people, however, seem to really like the scent. I love that it contains very few ingredients (11 to be exact) so I can be aware of exactly what I'm putting on my face, The skin again tightens as the mask dries. When you wash the mask off it feels quite exfoliating, and it leaves the skin feeling much fresher, and looking less dull. This one is priced at £6.95 - so the cheapest of the lot so far - it's worth the cost, but I'm definitely interested in trying the other Lush fresh face masks to see if they've got anything to target the dryness in my skin (and recommendation would be great!)
I have two sheet masks which I've used recently. The first I've heard quite a lot about before I used it, so I had some expectation. It's the Garnier Moisture Bomb tissue mask. This literally does what it says. It gives you a surge of moisture which is great (especially when you've got skin like mine) but I do find it's a bit of a pain in the ass to put on and isn't really comfortable to wear. This is also only £1, and you can get it in pretty much any Boots or Superdrug, so it's a good one to pick up if your skin is feeling particularly dry. I also like that you can just do it as a one-off, whereas a lot of masks are to be done 2-3 times a week. This mask did live up to my expectations - I just would have liked it to have felt a better fit on my face.
Lastly, I have the Cat Nip Sheet Mask by Nails Inc. I really enjoyed using this mask -it feels as though it both moisturises and nourishes your skin. It's also a better fit and more comfortable to wear than the Garnier mask - it was, however, more expensive at £5, it's pricey for sheet masks - but it seemed to make my skin look more alive. The actually mask has a cat on it too which is pretty cute. It did leave quite a lot of residue on my skin after use, so I spent a while attempting to rub it all in.
So here's the lowdown on some of the masks I've been trying...
Firstly I've got the Peel and Polish from Pixi. I know, technically this is not a mask - but I've been using it a fair bit lately, so thought it deserved a mention. This feels kind of scrub like on the skin, and leaves tingly sensation whilst on the skin. My face seems a lot smoother after using this, I think it noticeably gets rid of dead skin cells, which leaves my skin looking more alive. You only have to keep this on for 5 minutes, so it's pretty quick to use. You also need to use SPF with this. It's £26 - so not the cheapest, but I think you can definitely see the difference in your skin.
For Blemishes, I have been using The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mask. This green mask goes on thick like a clay mask and feels very fresh on the skin. As the mask dries you can feel your skin tighten. I have noticed reduced redness after using this, and any problem areas seemed to have sorted themselves out shortly after using this mask. I think this mask is great for blemish - but I wouldn't use it if I were blemish free, as my skin is on the dryer side, and this is recommended for more oily skin types - however it's great when it comes to targeting spots and redness. This mask is only £11, which I think is pretty good as I feel it makes a visible difference to my skin.

I did also make a video on using these masks so you can see the masks in action and hear my immediate thoughts...

My skin is definitely is a better state than it was. Thank God for face masks!

Urban Decay: Full Spectrum Palette.
Friday 20 January 2017
I'm going to make a bit of a bold statement here, but... I think I'm done with neutral eye makeup.
I know it's a big statement to make - but I've been feeling a little braver and more experimental with my makeup, I have actually been enjoying delving into the world of colourful eye looks.
I work a few makeup counters away from Urban Decay, so naturally, I often find myself admiring their products. One day the Full Spectrum palette caught my eye (I mean, how could it not) - and I found myself lusting after it, despite it being worlds away from my standard gold eyeshadow.
When I saw they had one of their Full Spectrum palettes reduced due to the small chip in one of the shadows, I knew I had to have it. I was dying to play around which the colours - even if I'm meant doing the wackiest makeup, to wear around the house.
So, the palette consists of 21 colours, with glitters, shimmers, mattes and all of the in-between - there is a real range of levels of sparkle in the palette - and the majority of the colours are quite, well, colourful... besides the white.
Here are some swatches of all of the colours so you can get more of a feel for them...
From left to right the shades above are: Alchemy, Gossip, Paranoia, Warning, Seize, and Jones
From left to right the shades above are as follows: Midnight Blaze, Calavera, Goldmine, Hundred, Hatter, and Mean
From left to right above we have the shades: Minx, Blindsided, Metamorphosis, Delirious, Sketch and Faded
These last three shades from left to right are: Platonic, Iced and Bump.
I've already used the shades gossip and warning, which created a looked that I loved, plan on recreating and I also received a couple of compliments on my eye makeup that day! Alongside these, on first impressions, my favourite shades are Alchemy, Minx (although I'm not sure my swatch does it much justice), Jones, Seize, and Blind Sided!
There are mainly three different shades of each colour, so this palette makes it very easy if you decide to, for example, create a 'blue' eye look, and there are three shade of blue which all work very nicely together.
The shadows are very pigmented and have a good amount of colour payoff. I've only used the palette once so far but found the colours to all my very blendable - something which is definitely a requirement which such strong colours.
I'm also pretty happy with the packaging. The palette is a black plastic square with a colourful Urban Decay logo, there is a large mirror inside - always handy, and a double-ended mini brush, which is actually pretty decent too - one end is nice and fluffy for blending, and the other end is slightly smaller and flatter which allows you to be more precise.
Overall on first impressions, I'm really happy with this palette - I think the colour range is beautiful - and will be perfect for the days I feel like making a statement. However, this palette is definitely something you either love or hate - I've had a few people tell me the colours are disgusting, but personally I'm excited to use them - I'll share some looks I create with this palette over the next few weeks!

Give your friends flowers...
Thursday 19 January 2017
Today I finished work and before heading to see some of my closest friends I decided to get some skincare I'd be after for a while, and as I knew my friend Jaynie wanted to try out the same product, so I decided to be good like egg and pick her up a set of her own.
As I carried on walking through the Mall, I got to M&S I stopped to look at the flowers (because who doesn't stop to admire flowers?!) and it made me think how lovely it is to receive flowers, so I decided to pick up a bunch, not for myself this time, but for my friend Gina - just because I thought it would make her smile, and then I realised the thought of it made me smile too (cheesy I know). However, I acknowledged how lovely it feels to treat your friends.
If people are good to you, you should show your appreciation, even when it's not expected for you. If you've got a bit of spare money, you should think about getting a little treat for your friends and family - because it's nice to be nice. I think it made my day, as well as there's!

Satin Sister
Tuesday 17 January 2017
I've recently found a new nail polish love! It's from Essie (they do the best shades don't they?!), and it's a colour unlike any I've ever worn on my nails before - which is a lot of the reason I love it so much, you may disagree, but I think it is more than your bog-standard nail colour.
Satin Sister is a dark green shade, with a navy blue tinge to it. From a distance, this nail polish almost looks black - but it is just a little more exciting than a black polish.
The formula of this nail varnish is pretty good as they go - it will chip after a couple of days, but what nail polish doesn't?
The formula is also lovely, it paints on easily and you can get away with just one coat if you're in a rush, and it also doesn't seem to take too long to dry.
The only problem with the statement colour is any chipping really shows as it's quite a dark shade, but that just means it's time for a repaint!
I think this colour is beautiful and will look stunning with any outfit, as although it's a bit of a statement, it's dark and neutral enough to just add a touch of sophistication to a look.

Morning Routine.
Monday 16 January 2017
I don't often share my Youtube Videos on my blog (you can find my channel here), however, I was so happy with how this one came out that I want to make sure people saw it!
It's a bit of a morning routine, mixed in with a getting ready with me, which I filmed and edited entirely by myself. I definitely want to start making more videos like this one - I felt as though I pushed myself creatively with this one, and I believe it's great to always push your creative boundaries. I know some of you may feel a little underwhelmed by the video now, but I'm proud nonetheless.
Also how much does that jumpsuit paired with corkscrew curled hair rock! I'm not gonna lie - I felt pretty badass that that.

Corkscrew Curls
Friday 13 January 2017
Corkscrew curls are a trend which I've seen around the internet a fair bit recently - and it's a look I really love, so I decided to treat myself to the Lee Stafford Chopstick Curler to try to create this look myself.
My hair is quite short, so I wasn't sure that I'd be able to pull off this look, or even get my hair around the curler burn free. However, these curlers are just £19.99 so I figure that if I didn't get on with them it didn't matter too much... but I'm glad I parted with that 20quid for these!
I do find it is quite time-consuming to use these to curl all of my hair- however, you only need to keep the hair on the curler for a second or so, so it probably works out it would take the same amount of time to curl your hair with any other curlers. This is also a hairstyle which completely transforms your look, so it worth spending a bit of time on.
I struggled the most with the underneath layer - especially as the back, I soon learnt how careful I need to be with this curler as I managed to burn my face :(
How freaking cool does my hair look?!
...Well, I like it (which I'm sure you grasped from all of the photos).
I feel like I may become obsessed with this hairstyle!
It definitely a statement look - but I do love to make a statement!

Pixi Skincare Haul
Thursday 12 January 2017
A beauty brand I really love is Pixi. The Pixi Glow tonic has quickly become a staple in my skincare routine, as soon as I'm running low, I'll repurchase because I can't bare to go without this.
Anyway, as my love for the brand seems to be common knowledge. I was very kindly treated to some other Pixi skincare bits for Christmas - so here's what I got and my thoughts so far...
Rose Oil Blend (£26) - I've really enjoyed using this oil so far, it just gives my skin that extra bit of nourishment could do with. It does take a little while to sink into the skin, though, but smell lovely and leaves my skin feeling well looked after.
Overnight Glow Serum (£26) - okay, I've cheated a little with this one, as I actually had it a while before Christmas. But I love it. The morning after I use this my skin is just a little less dull than usual and noticeably evens skin tone.
Nourishing Sleep Mask (£18) - this is super moisturising and comfortable to sleep in. In the morning after using this I can really feel the difference, my skin feels a lot more hydrated and less tight than usual. I'm really enjoying using this product so far! Glow Mud Cleanser (£18) - This is one of those cleansers which just makes your skin feel really clean, although it doesn't really remove makeup, so you have to do that in a separate step. It's very thick and feels almost mask-like when it first goes on the skin and then leaves your skin feeling really fresh and exfoliated, despite the texture of the product feeling more like a balm than a scrub on the skin
Glow Tonic (£18)- as I've already touched on, this has become a staple in my skincare routine. It's hard to describe, but it just gives my skin a radiance and my skin feels so much smoother when I use this.
Make-Up Melting Cleansing Cloths (£10) - I tend to steer away from makeup wipes because overall they're not great for your skin, but these ones seem fairly non-offensive. They don't quite remove every inch of product from my skin, but they manage a fair amount, and they don't irritate my sensitive skin. They're great for those days when you're in a bit of a rush and I'll definitely be packing these next time I'm travelling.
Have you tried any of the Pixi products? As a whole, I'm pretty impressed with the brand!

Write About It...
Tuesday 10 January 2017
Like most, I'm a big fan of stationary (who isn't?) I recently I realised I have a pretty excessive amount of notebooks, and when I tried to have a clear out, I then realise I actually get plenty of use out of the whole bunch so I thought I'd share my love and uses for notebooks with you.
I have 9 notebooks in total I want to talk to you about - yeah, I have slight notebook addiction, but I like writing things down, and well, stationary helps me convince myself I'm organised, even when I'm not...
While we're on the subject of diaries, let's talk about my other ones (...because one is clearly not enough). I like to write everything down, so I have a diary for 'dear diary' purposes. It started out for me to record memories, but it's slowly turned into getting anything off my chest, and if I'm honest it mainly consists of "I fancy this boy, and he doesn't fancy me back"... but I find it very therapeutic to write down my thoughts, no matter how ridiculous they really are. For this, I used another Kate Spade notebook (similar here). This one is yellow, with the words "a likely story" on the cover. I loved the quote on the front which is why I choose this one, being yellow however it does tend to get a tad grubby. This diary is very typical teenage girl, but I wouldn't be without it.
To record daily thoughts and goings on, I recently began a One Line A Day, 5-year memory book - which some far I've kept up (only another, almost 5 years left to go). I love the idea of this, it makes looking back so simple, and as it's only a line it's easy to maintain. You just fill out the year with each entry. I can't wait until a couple of years in to see how much my life has changed.
Now, let's talk blog organisation... I have a couple of notebooks I use for this...
The first is from The White Company, it's a grey notebook with the words Do Small Things with Great Love on the front - a nice little reminder to put love into everything. The pages inside are plain, which means I can be a little more creative with what goes on them. Originally, I bought this book intending to use it as a bullet journal - but slowly it became more of a blog post date planner and to-do list book.
The next blog planning notebook I have is from Kate Spade (again. Can you telI I'm a fan?!) and it's my favourite notebook of the lot. On the cover, it says "with freedom, books, flowers and the moon, who could not be happy?" which I think is possibly the most wonder quote ever (especially as I'm a very big fan of freedom, books, flowers and the moon). I use this notebook to jot down idea's, draft posts, plan video etc. I do however wish I kept this book for my personal diary, however, as it's so lovely (but I may repurchase it when I use this one up... is that acceptable?)
The newest to my collection is my Daily Journal from Oh Deer. The cover is a plain turquoise colour with the words daily journal printed in a rose gold. The pages inside are laid out perfectly to plan to your day. It just has everything you need. I've only used it a few times so far but I've loved using it, it's just made everything very easy to schedule in.
I'm attempting to immerse myself into the world of poetry writing, as it is something I'd love to be good at - so I find myself writing a couple of (usually awful) poem each week - and I keep them all written in this little red book - so hopefully in a few months time I'll be able to flick through and see an improvement.
Lastly, I've got some of the Zoella lifestyle stationary (full blogpost here). I use the Once Upon A Time notebook for general life organisation - it's where the shopping lists and things to remember go.
And then for the last smidge of organisation some weeks, I'll use the Zoella She Designed a Life She Loved Book to plan my days and write weekly to do lists.
Please tell me I'm not the only one with an addiction to notebooks...
I have 9 notebooks in total I want to talk to you about - yeah, I have slight notebook addiction, but I like writing things down, and well, stationary helps me convince myself I'm organised, even when I'm not...
Firstly I have my 2017 diary - mine is from Kate Spade (find it here) and I use it pretty much daily to organise my plans and to check what I am doing. I had the same diary for 2016, just in a bigger size. I enjoyed using it so much that I felt the need to repurchase. I love that this diary both has the entire month laid on a page and each week laid out on a page so I can see either my plans for the month or my plans for the wee which just makes everything very easy. Also, I did notice this year they added monthly to-do lists, which is just pretty damn cute.
