I decided to book a last-minute week off work next week, as it was all getting a bit much, and I felt the need for a bit of chill time. Obviously, I want my week off to be as productive as possible, however, as well as getting all of my boring errands done - you know, go to the bank, book a doctor's appointment, the usual stuff we tend to push to the side because we're busy working, I also want to make sure I do some stuff just for me - all the stuff I intend to make time for, but never do - the things that sometimes feel a little to time indulgent to be doing when you're working full time and have a to-do list as long as your arm anytime you're out of the office.

 When we headed inside, I noticed it was fairly busy and there was a good atmosphere! We must have hit the lunchtime rush, as there were not many dining tables for a while, but we were more than happy to sit in the window at the coffee table catching up over a berry and hibiscus tea.

The food was good, the atmosphere was good, the prices were good, and in my case the company was good! I'd definitely recommend popping into Zazu's Kitchen if you looking for somewhere grab a bite to eat in Bristol.
I'm looking forward to going back in when it gets warmer, as the outdoor seating area, looks so lovely!

Recently I've gone a little face mask crazy! As my skin has not been looking its greatest, I've been trying different face masks in hope to sort it out, whilst having a bit of a pamper!

So here's the lowdown on some of the masks I've been trying...

 Another green mask I have is from Lush. It's the Love Lettuce mask which is one of their fresh face masks which you keep it in the fridge - so it's always cool when you apply it and I have a feeling it also has an expiry date, which is something to be aware of. You can tell from the texture and the smell this is an all-natural mask, which honestly, I both like and dislike. The texture of it is quite lumpy and grainy so it doesn't feel all that nice to put onto your skin, I also dislike the scent - some people, however, seem to really like the scent. I love that it contains very few ingredients (11 to be exact) so I can be aware of exactly what I'm putting on my face, The skin again tightens as the mask dries. When you wash the mask off it feels quite exfoliating, and it leaves the skin feeling much fresher, and looking less dull. This one is priced at £6.95 - so the cheapest of the lot so far - it's worth the cost, but I'm definitely interested in trying the other Lush fresh face masks to see if they've got anything to target the dryness in my skin (and recommendation would be great!)

I have two sheet masks which I've used recently. The first I've heard quite a lot about before I used it, so I had some expectation. It's the Garnier Moisture Bomb tissue mask. This literally does what it says. It gives you a surge of moisture which is great (especially when you've got skin like mine) but I do find it's a bit of a pain in the ass to put on and isn't really comfortable to wear. This is also only £1, and you can get it in pretty much any Boots or Superdrug, so it's a good one to pick up if your skin is feeling particularly dry. I also like that you can just do it as a one-off, whereas a lot of masks are to be done 2-3 times a week. This mask did live up to my expectations - I just would have liked it to have felt a better fit on my face.


Lastly, I have the Cat Nip Sheet Mask by Nails Inc. I really enjoyed using this mask -it feels as though it both moisturises and nourishes your skin. It's also a better fit and more comfortable to wear than the Garnier mask - it was, however, more expensive at £5, it's pricey for sheet masks - but it seemed to make my skin look more alive. The actually mask has a cat on it too which is pretty cute. It did leave quite a lot of residue on my skin after use, so I spent a while attempting to rub it all in.

Like most, I'm a big fan of stationary (who isn't?) I recently I realised I have a pretty excessive amount of notebooks, and when I tried to have a clear out, I then realise I actually get plenty of use out of the whole bunch so I thought I'd share my love and uses for notebooks with you.

I have 9 notebooks in total I want to talk to you about - yeah, I have slight notebook addiction, but I like writing things down, and well, stationary helps me convince myself I'm organised, even when I'm not...


While we're on the subject of diaries, let's talk about my other ones (...because one is clearly not enough). I like to write everything down, so I have a diary for 'dear diary' purposes. It started out for me to record memories, but it's slowly turned into getting anything off my chest, and if I'm honest it mainly consists of "I fancy this boy, and he doesn't fancy me back"... but I find it very therapeutic to write down my thoughts, no matter how ridiculous they really are. For this, I used another Kate Spade notebook (similar here).  This one is yellow, with the words "a likely story" on the cover. I loved the quote on the front which is why I choose this one, being yellow however it does tend to get a tad grubby.  This diary is very typical teenage girl, but I wouldn't be without it.


To record daily thoughts and goings on, I recently began a One Line A Day, 5-year memory book - which some far I've kept up (only another, almost 5 years left to go). I love the idea of this, it makes looking back so simple, and as it's only a line it's easy to maintain. You just fill out the year with each entry. I can't wait until a couple of years in to see how much my life has changed.

Now, let's talk blog organisation... I have a couple of notebooks I use for this...

The first is from The White Company, it's a grey notebook with the words Do Small Things with Great Love on the front - a nice little reminder to put love into everything. The pages inside are plain, which means I can be a little more creative with what goes on them. Originally, I bought this book intending to use it as a bullet journal - but slowly it became more of a blog post date planner and to-do list book.


The next blog planning notebook I have is from Kate Spade (again. Can you telI I'm a fan?!) and it's my favourite notebook of the lot. On the cover, it says "with freedom, books, flowers and the moon, who could not be happy?" which I think is possibly the most wonder quote ever (especially as I'm a very big fan of freedom, books, flowers and the moon). I use this notebook to jot down idea's, draft posts, plan video etc. I do however wish I kept this book for my personal diary, however, as it's so lovely (but I may repurchase it when I use this one up... is that acceptable?)

The newest to my collection is my Daily Journal from Oh Deer. The cover is a plain turquoise colour with the words daily journal printed in a rose gold. The pages inside are laid out perfectly to plan to your day. It just has everything you need. I've only used it a few times so far but I've loved using it, it's just made everything very easy to schedule in.

I'm attempting to immerse myself into the world of poetry writing, as it is something I'd love to be good at - so I find myself writing a couple of (usually awful) poem each week - and I keep them all written in this little red book - so hopefully in a few months time I'll be able to flick through and see an improvement.
Lastly, I've got some of the Zoella lifestyle stationary (full blogpost here). I use the Once Upon A Time notebook for general life organisation - it's where the shopping lists and things to remember go.
And then for the last smidge of organisation some weeks, I'll use the Zoella She Designed a Life She Loved Book to plan my days and write weekly to do lists.

Please tell me I'm not the only one with an addiction to notebooks...
