Feeling reflective | I may be nice, but I am not a doormat...
Sunday, 28 September 2014
I've noticed people often say to me "you're too nice". Recently, this is something I have found myself pondering a lot as I am beginning to hear it more and more.
I found myself thinking, how can you be too nice? Surely being nice is a positive trait, so how can you be too nice? Or can we get too much of a good thing?
I came to the conclusion, that I'm not the one with the problem, yes I am nice, but that is not the problem, it's people willing to take advantage of my kind nature, which ends up with me feeling like crap and used, and the other person is probably most of the time completely unaware their behaviour has even affected me.
What happened to karma? When do I get my good karma for always giving people the benefit of the doubt or making an effort with people who give nothing back?
Although I do not feel I should stop being so 'nice', I think it is about time I became more aware of the people who won't appreciate this, as I constantly feel as if people are walking all over me, and more often than not, it's the same people.
I am by no means going to stop being nice because I think being nice is so important, but I think I came to a point where I have realised I do not want to be walked all over, and I need to have much more respect for myself.
From now I am going to start saying no to things I don't want to do, and stop doing favours I know won't get returned...
Sorry, this post is not the most positive, however, I felt the need to put this all down in writing (well, typing) as I have found myself reflecting on how I constantly feel used, and decided this needs to stop and I need to gain so respect for myself. I am sick of being a pushover, so it's no more Mr (miss) nice guy (girl), well only in the case of those who don't deserve it.
I will be perfectly lovely to everyone else.

Lush: Amandopondo Bubble Bar
Thursday, 25 September 2014
If you read this blog post, you'll know I recently purchased the Lush Amandopondo bubble bar after feeling down, stressed and in need of a pamper.
I am so pleased with the buy I thought I would let my little blog know!
I have very sensitive skins, so although I have used Lush products many times before, I always feel cautious when trying out the new bath, shower or skincare products and find myself using minimal quantities of products (especially scented products) just in case it causing any irritation to my skin, on the plus side, all products I buy last ages!
I found despite using a minimal amount of the bubble bar, my bath was filled with bubbles and the scent was so fresh and relaxing - it's sweet without being sickly and overpowering which I find with a lot of sweeter scents. I actually love the scent so much I've found myself researching the ingredients to see if I can find a candle containing similar things which will hopefully give off the same sort of smell (Lush need to get a range of candles).
I will definitely be picking up one of these next time I am in Lush, I have had the perfect relaxing bath, got a few uses out of it, and the price wouldn't break the bank either!

MAC - Lady Danger Lipstick | Beauty Review
Wednesday, 17 September 2014
Recently I have rediscovered an old favourite lipstick of mine, Lady Danger by MAC.
I lost this lipstick a few months back so stopped wearing it, when I found the lipstick (in an old handbag, of course) it took a place amongst my other lipsticks in my lipstick stand and became half-forgotten.
However, after oversleeping slightly one morning, shoving up my up in a bun, and quickly applying some mascara, I felt as though I was going to work looking a complete mess. Before the house, I grabbed this lipstick and applied it. I just felt a million times better. It was such an effortless look, yet together look.
I'd describe the shade as a bright orange-red. It has a matt finish and unlike other matt finish lipstick this lipstick isn't dying, it's also fairly long-lasting, a quality I feel a lot of lipsticks lack.
I have completely fallen in love with this lipstick all over again, it gives a beautiful bright red lip.
What's your favourite red lipstick?

Sometimes we need a little pick me up | Mini Haul...
Recently I haven't quite been feeling myself, I am not going to go into much detail. Let's just say I have been feeling a little more sensitive than usual, after having a day feeling as though I was going to burst into tears every five minutes despite for no particular reason I decided I was in need of a little treat and pamper.
Completely ignoring my spending ban, I headed to The Mall as soon as I finished work.
As I am supposed to be saving money and my bank account isn't looking too healthy as it is, I wanted to treat myself, without it hurting my bank account too much.
I decided to have a look around for something some bits to go towards having a much needed pamper evening.
After looking around the shops for a while I settle on buying myself two little bits, first off in Lush I got myself an Amandopondo bubble bar slice in Lush, and then I picked up Ridding Hood Nail Paint by Tanya Burr from Superdrug.
I have had my eye on the Tanya Burr Nail Polish, since purchasing the Picnic in the Park Lipgloss and being super impressed (blog post here).
Recently I've been dying to see what the nail polishes Tanya Burr had to offer.
Being a big fan of Tanya Burr, I have been admiring her nails as I've been watching her fashion week vlogs, - which happened to be the Ridding Hood Shade from her range.
With autumn/winter approaching I felt this shade would be perfect as the leaves begin to fall.
When browsing the Tanya Burr Nail Polishes I noticed they were also reduced from £5.99 to £3.99, so how could I can no!
Painting my nails is definitely a key part of a pamper evening.
Another key part of a pamper evening is, of course, a relaxing bath, so I headed to lush to see what I could pick up for my bath.
After smelling what felt like everything they sold in lush I settled with the Amandopondo bubble bar slice - something I have not tried before.
I really love the scent of this, I would describe this as a floral scent with a citrus kick. I'm super excited to have a bath with this one. As it's a bubble bar I can get more than one use out of it, which is always good!
I can't wait to have a little pamper evening tonight, with a nice relaxing bath, and a fresh coat of nail polish, I'm sure I'll feel like a new person!
How do you treat yourself for a pamper evening?

Barry M Liquid Eyeliner
Wednesday, 10 September 2014
I recently rediscovered this eyeliner (similar linked) when sorting through my makeup, I came very close to throwing it away but decided against it just in case the opportunity to wear bright blue eyeliner came along, then one day I was feeling a bit bored of wearing my usual neutral eyeshadows, so I decided to try this eyeliner on for a bit of a change.
I'm really surprised at how much I love it, I thought it looked a bit too bright, but I feel it does not look over the top, and it really brightens up my dark eyes.
It was a very long time ago I bought this, however, I have had a look, and Boots do still sell the Barry M liquid liner for £6.99 which I think is great value for the product, however, I am not 100% sure they still do this shade.
Despite first thinking, this shade would be too bright for everyday wear, I have fallen in love with the vibrant colour, it's a really beautiful shade of blue, which I think looks great with the contrast of my dark eyes.
What I love the most about this eyeliner is the staying power.
I have a really bad habit of rubbing my eyes, which means usually by the end of the day I have makeup all over my face.. and not in a good way. This eyeliner, however, does not budge, not even slightly, throughout the day, it looks as though I have just applied it, the only eyeliner I have ever found this with.
I also find apply this eyeliner is not a struggle, while it is not quite so easy to apply as my Soap and Glory Supercat eyeliner it is certainly a close second, and achieving a cat-eye/winged liner look is quick and easy.
Overall if you're looking for a long-lasting eyeliner to brighten up your make up I would highly recommend this!
I am certainly going to have a look to see what other shades are available in this eyeliner!
I hope you've all had a lovely day,

Holiday Snaps... Better Late than Never!
This morning it hit me that it was around a year ago I was on holiday with my friend Jess in Alcudia, as I reminisced over our holiday, I realised I never shared my holiday photographs anywhere, they just stayed saved on the iphone I took them on, so I decided it would be a shame not to share my lovely memory from my holiday, so I thought it was about time I blogged them...
I hope you liked this little taster of my holiday last year, it is nice to finally share a few of the picture I took on holiday. I had the best time away and wish I could go back!
I hope you've had a lovely day.

I mentioned in my August favourites that I am more of a lipstick girl rather than a lip gloss girl, however, to buy this lipgloss on a whim because I had heard so much good stuff about it and I love Tanya Burr, as it only cost £6.99 I felt it was affordable enough to try out, and if I decided it didn't like it wouldn't too much of a loss.
I would definitely recommend trying this out, I'm so impressed and think this product is such good value for money!
Tanya Burr Picnic in the Park Lipgloss

I know this lipgloss got a mention in my August favourites, but I love it so much I felt there is so much more I can say about this lipgloss that I decided to dedicate an entire post to it.
However, I think this has converted me! I can't stop wearing this lipgloss.
The main reason I do not really wear lipgloss is that I feel lipgloss can be too sticky and I find it really frustrating when you're wearing lipgloss and your hair constantly sticks to it (I'm not the only person this happens to am I?), however, I haven't found this to be too much of an issue with this lipgloss, the formula isn't overly sticky or glossy... sometimes lipgloss can look too glossy so that rather than making your lips seem more attractive, it can appear as though you have slobber around your lips, not the look you were necessarily going for I hope to think.
I really love this colour of this lipgloss, it's just a very pretty pink, it's not too over the top, and I find it is a colour which really enhances my natural lip. The wand of this lipgloss is not what I expected, it's much softer and easily glides across your lips making application easy.
Also what I think really sold me on this lipgloss is the delicious smell. It has a very sweet, strawberry-like scent to it which I love, I find myself repeatedly wanting to apply the lipgloss because of the lovely smell.
I can not wait to try out some more of the Tanya Burr Lipglosses. I am very surprised to find myself constantly reaching for this lip gloss over my usual MAC or Chanel lipstick.
What's your favourite lipgloss?

Where are you putting your energy?
Wednesday, 3 September 2014
Earlier I said in my vlog that although I had put to write two blog posts on my to-do list today I was not going to do it, as I did not feel inspired to write another blog post and I did not see the point in forcing a blog post... however I am now writing this.
About half hour after I had said this I was in the bath relaxing when I began to realise something I wanted to touch on in a blog post, I guess inspiration comes to us when we least expect it.
I am not going to go into detail because it is quite personal, but the past few months I've had a lot on my mind, so I have been feeling a bit down and not really myself, however today I found that the thing which has been bothering me did not cross my mind quite so much I think because I was busy vlogging, and when it did pop into my head and I noticed a change in my mood, I tried my best to not let myself become sad, instead I concentrated on completing my to-do list for the day.
This made me release how I can transfer this negative energy into positive energy and productivity.
Since making my first ever vlog a few days ago and decided to buy a camera later this week to start making youtube videos, I feel I have got something to concentrate more on, alongside my blog.
My brain feels busier and I think because of this I have pushed on those sad feelings I do not need using up space in my head.
I have realised I don't need to carry around this negative feeling anymore if I set myself a goal and channel my energy into achieving what I want and trying to be the person I want to be, and I most certainly do not want to be the girl who cries herself to sleep.
I want to be the girl who tries hards, who's successful and hard working. I want to keep learning and achieving, and hopefully who will get noticed for it.
So here's to trying harder to be who I want to be, and moving my negative energy into (hopefully) success.
If you are feeling a bit down, trying to remember your energy does not necessarily have to stay in the negative space it's in.

Barry M Boots Limited Edition Nail Paint Review | Beauty
I recently rediscovered this nail polish when sorting out my bedroom. In total I came across 4 bottles, none of which were empty or needed throwing out.
Why four bottles? I originally bought this nail polish a few years back, and fell in love with the colour, it became my go-to nail polish. As it's a limited edition shade, which I was constantly wearing I decided to stock up.
The nail polish is a pale purple colour, with a pink tone to it. I really love this shade and I have had so many compliments on my nails when they've been this colour. I am so happy to rediscover this colour, it's slowly becoming a favourite of mine again.
If you usually read my blog, you'll know that I am a big fan of Barry M nail varnish, I'm not going to say too much about the brand because I feel like I've gone on about Barry M nails polishes in a few posts now, I just think they are great value for money, have a lovely range of colours and finishes and are fairly long-lasting.
If you come across this colour, I would definitely pick some up, I'm glad I bought a few of these when I did, they will come in handy now I've rediscovered my love for this colour.
