Realistic March Goals.

Blogger Chloe Harriets doodling in bullet journal - writing out realistic March goals

As February draws to a close, I'm beginning to realise the goals I so enthusiastically wrote out in my bullet journal 28 days ago, we're not achieved, not one of them. I could reel off a million excuses, but that won't achieve those goals so I won't bother.

The goals I set were unrealistic, I set myself up for too much of a challenge, so instead of working towards them, I ignored them, and therefore achieved even less than I would have without the goals in place. It was counterproductive, to say the least.

So as March hits I'm trying to set more achievable goals, the kind that I can clearly tick off, and depend only on my own action - no more I'll reach... Instagram followers etc, because that is not as in my control as I'd like it to be.

So here they are, realistic March goals

- Write a poem a day, post it to my poetry Instagram account (if you want the link, let me know)

- Paint/draw at least once a week. I'm trying to get back into creating art, once a week is manageable whilst ensure it becomes a regular habit, plus there's nothing stopping me doing it more often.

- Meditate daily.

- Read 4+ new articles a week

- Read daily

- Send minimum 1 pitch a week. Hopefully more.

- Reach 60,000 words on the book I'm writing (as I write this, I have 11,398 words to go)

- Be active on social media, use it to network and share, send time each day posting on Instagram, replying to tweets and commenting on the Youtube videos I enjoy.

- Stay positive. okay so this one is not so trackable, but it's important.

fashion flowers jumper knit ootd pink spring style urban outfitters

Pink Knit and Spring Blooms.

Monday, 8 May 2017
My pink obsession continues, this time in the form of the beautiful fluorescent knit.
A few weeks ago I was supposed to be window-shopping in Urban Outfitters, when this pink jumper caught my eye (which is hardly surprising considering how bright it is!), as it was on sale (£20!!!) so I decided to treat myself, unsure really how much wear I'd get out of it given the time of year and the bright colour.  Well to answer my own question - I've got a lot of wear out of it in the short amount of time I've had it (enough to see its blog post worthy). The bright colour is surprisingly easy to match with anything - it just seems to go, even when you don't expect it to. I'm especially loving wearing it with some simple black jeans - but I've worn it with dresses, skirts, dungarees - pretty much anything and everything in my wardrobe.

The colour also gives some Spring vibes to a slightly more cosy outfit, because let's be honest it not as warm as it looks (when the sky is actually blue), and when they sky isn't blue, it's grey, and rainy - really all-around jumper appropriate weather.

The jumper is slightly cropped, and a little baggy with a perfectly cuffed hem and sleeves. I have had so many compliments on this piece, whether it's on the chunky style knit or the gorgeous shade of pink - everyone seems to love it, and so do I!

This is a piece which is great to just throw on, feel comfy, and still turn heads. It's effortless and effective.

Spring Nails Colours.

Thursday, 4 May 2017

I decided to pick up a few new nails polishes, as I felt in need of some pastels for Springtime. I went straight to Essie because I find they have the best colour choices and formula when it comes to affordable nail polish.

I went for the shades: Splash of Grenadine, Mint Candy Apple and Bikini so Teeny, and I love all three of them. They're all perfect pastels for this time of year. These are the perfect way to add that extra splash of colour to any look. I think my favourite is Mint Candy Apple, but I can see myself getting plenty of wear out of all three colours!

What do you think about the colours I went for?

Flowers.

Saturday, 19 March 2016
One of my favourite things about Spring is the colours and the flowers. Recently my house has become more and more filled with flowers due to the time of year, a few birthdays, mothers day and congratulations, and I have become more obsessed.
I have also found a love I didn't know I had - photographing flowers. I have often found myself admiring flowers through my viewfinder, so I thought I'd share that beauty I was with you.
I'll warn you, I struggled to narrow down the pictures, so be prepared to see a whole lot of flowers.

I'm thinking of starting flower series, what do you think?

I know flowers brighten up my day, so I hope these brightened up your day too.

Love,
Chloé

March Lifestyle Favourites 2015

Thursday, 2 April 2015
March has quickly come to an end, seriously, how fast is this year going?!
Throughout the past month, I found myself falling in love with some bits and pieces. Unlike my usual favorites, there aren't many beauty/skincare products, as I've mainly been sticking to the same things. I have however found myself enjoy lots of other things, so here they are:

Apologies, I have posted a few of these bits on my blog already, naturally as they are the favourites I've wanted to blog about them.

Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs - I got this perfume from my Mum for Christmas. I think half the reason she bought it for me was probably because of the packaging as I love daisies. However, I've been wearing it a lot more as we go into Spring as I think the scent is nice and fresh, perfect for this time of year and I've also noticed I have had a lot of compliments whilst I've been wearing it, so it's slowly becoming my go-to perfume! I'm not going to try to describe the scent to you anymore, as I'm awful at describing scents, so I'll just say go and give it a smell if you're looking for a Spring scent.

Kate Spade Phone Case -  as I recently got an iPhone 6 and needed a case, I decided to splash out and get a Kate Spade case as I'm a little in love with all things Kate Spade, and this case is just so damn cute. I came across a few similar ones before I settled. I was stuck between yellow gold with writing saying 'hello sunshine', or rose gold with writing saying 'pretty little thing' - I obviously went for the hello sunshine in the end and I'm so happy with it. I love the saying hello sunshine and the simple understated look of the case. The reflectiveness is super handy if you need a mirror, however, it does scratch easily and smudges are quite visible, but hey you win some, you lose some.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstein - I've still not finished this book but still it is fast becoming a favorite of mine. It has been enchanting throughout. Unlike a lot of books, I instantly fell in love with the story and characters, rather than having to read 100 or so pages before the book seems to get anywhere. This book was amazing from the first page! (You can read my review of it here)

Coat - Yet again this is an item that I have already featured within another blog post (here).
I recently got this coat in a charity shop for £15 and I have fallen in love with it. It so unusual, and makes such a statement. The shape and fit are beautiful, the quality is great and the color is so vibrant and lovely for this time of year.

Writing in my diary - Something I have recently become a little obsessed with is writing in my diary. Most evenings I've been taking a little time out to write in my diaries which I find relaxes me and helps me to gather my thoughts. I have two diaries (I told you, obsessed), one is a 2015 day-by-day diary which has a section for each day, in which I'll record memories in some days. The other is a notebook with I've had for years which I record feelings and emotions in. I've found it so enjoyable to get things down in writing.

Clinique Matte Lipstick in the shade Peony - I'm not going to talk about this one too much as I have already done a full review on this (which you can find here). I'm just going to say I love this lipstick, I think it's super brightening for Spring.

Urban Outfitter Backpack - This one has already featured in this blog post. I got this from Urban Outfitters for a trip to India I have coming up, but I love it so much I couldn't resist using it before I went.  I am really enjoying using a backpack rather than a shoulder bag - I forgot carrying a bag didn't need to hurt one shoulder! I think this one is such a classic design I can wear it with anything.

Underwear Set from M&S - Sorry to be posting pictures of my underwear, but I'd be lying if I said this set wasn't one of my March favourites. I got this set from M&S, on sale for half price which was great. I already had this set of underwear in black which I got for Christmas, and I found it was the perfect fit on me and is so delicate and pretty, so when I saw the nude version for half the price I couldn't say no. I have actually worn the nude set a lot more than the black as it can be worn under anything.

So that is some bits that sprung to mind when thinking about what I'd been loving throughout March, sorry this post doesn't feature many beauty items. I've linked everything I could find online if you wanted to check them out more.
Sorry, some of the items and pictures have already featured in other blog posts, I've just really loved the items, and was happy with the photographs I had already taken.
I'd love to hear some of your current favourite bits and bobs.

I hope you all have a lovely March.
Love C

A Spring Coat | Fashion & Styling

Friday, 27 March 2015

This is my first ever outfit of the day blog post, can you believe it?
Despite being a fashion lover, I've really neglected this passion within my blogposts, however as I am slowly becoming more happy with my personal style I'm feeling more confident to inject a bit of it into my little blog

I couldn't stop myself getting out my camera to take a couple of vain photos when I put on this outfit.

I'm not usually massively into coats, but this one is a game changer! I have fallen in love with this coat for the Spring season.

I love the flattering shape of the coat, it add elegance to any outfit, and stitches in your waist perfectly. The bright colours make a statement of a simple outfit, as I've done here.
This is a coat which adds the perfect a Spring/Summer vibe to your outfit, while keeping you perfectly wrapped up warm for when it's still a little chilly.

The coat was a hidden gem I found in a charity shop, which I paid £15 for - an absolute steal. Unfortunately the brand is not one I have heard of, or can find from doing my research so I'm not sure when you can get this style, however I think it's definitely worth looking out for something similar, this coat has became a real staple garment for my Spring wardrobe.

Outfit Details:

Coat - Charity Shop (paid £15)
Playsuit - ASOS (similar linked)
Bag - Urban Outfitters (similar linked)
Shoes - Dune London (similar linked)
Necklace - Ebay
Lipstick - Clinique Matt Peony (you can read my review on it here)

I will definitely be doing most outfit posts from now on!
I'd love to hear what you think of this outfit, and what some of your Spring Wardrobe Staples are!
Love Chloe
xx
