I'm blue da ba dee..

 Lately, I've found myself admiring Arden Rose's blue eye make up in her Instagram story one day, so I decided to pop some blue eye shadow on myself and see how it looked. Personally, I love how it turned out - I felt great the entire day I wore this, I think this may be a go-to look for when I fancy being a little more colourful with my makeup, especially now Spring is coming around.

Pink to Make the Boys, or Girls Wink...

As promised, today I am bringing you an eye makeup look which I created using my Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette (full review here).

I've been enjoying using pinks shades on my eyes a lot recently, so I felt most excited to see the looks I could create with the bright pinks in my new Urban Decay Palette.


For this eye look used the shades Paranoia, Alchemy and Gossip on my eyelids, with Paranoia in the inner corner, and Gossip and Alchemy further out. I brought the shade Warning up through the crease to create a transition shade, and used a smidge of Iced and Bump in the inner corners to add that bit of inner corner highlight. To finish it off I used both the shades Paranoia and Gossip along my bottom lash line, and of course, used my trusty Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen to create winged eyeliner and the amazing Maybelline Lash Sensational on the lashes. 

I love this look. I think the pink eye shadow actually makes my boring brown eyes pop, and the shades really suit me. I think this may become a go-to makeup look for me!

Urban Decay: Full Spectrum Palette.

I'm going to make a bit of a bold statement here, but... I think I'm done with neutral eye makeup.
I know it's a big statement to make - but I've been feeling a little braver and more experimental with my makeup,  I have actually been enjoying delving into the world of colourful eye looks.

I work a few makeup counters away from Urban Decay, so naturally, I often find myself admiring their products. One day the Full Spectrum palette caught my eye (I mean, how could it not) - and I found myself lusting after it, despite it being worlds away from my standard gold eyeshadow.

When I saw they had one of their Full Spectrum palettes reduced due to the small chip in one of the shadows, I knew I had to have it. I was dying to play around which the colours - even if I'm meant doing the wackiest makeup, to wear around the house.

So, the palette consists of 21 colours, with glitters, shimmers, mattes and all of the in-between - there is a real range of levels of sparkle in the palette - and the majority of the colours are quite, well, colourful... besides the white.

Here are some swatches of all of the colours so you can get more of a feel for them...


From left to right the shades above are: Alchemy, Gossip, Paranoia, Warning, Seize, and Jones


From left to right the shades above are as follows: Midnight Blaze, Calavera, Goldmine, Hundred, Hatter, and Mean


From left to right above we have the shades: Minx, Blindsided, Metamorphosis, Delirious, Sketch and Faded


These last three shades from left to right are: Platonic, Iced and Bump.

I've already used the shades gossip and warning, which created a looked that I loved, plan on recreating and I also received a couple of compliments on my eye makeup that day! Alongside these, on first impressions, my favourite shades are Alchemy, Minx (although I'm not sure my swatch does it much justice), Jones, Seize, and Blind Sided!

There are mainly three different shades of each colour, so this palette makes it very easy if you decide to, for example, create a 'blue' eye look, and there are three shade of blue which all work very nicely together.

The shadows are very pigmented and have a good amount of colour payoff. I've only used the palette once so far but found the colours to all my very blendable - something which is definitely a requirement which such strong colours.

I'm also pretty happy with the packaging. The palette is a black plastic square with a colourful Urban Decay logo, there is a large mirror inside - always handy, and a double-ended mini brush, which is actually pretty decent too - one end is nice and fluffy for blending, and the other end is slightly smaller and flatter which allows you to be more precise.

Overall on first impressions, I'm really happy with this palette  - I think the colour range is beautiful - and will be perfect for the days I feel like making a statement. However, this palette is definitely something you either love or hate - I've had a few people tell me the colours are disgusting, but personally I'm excited to use them - I'll share some looks I create with this palette over the next few weeks!

Rainbow Pastel Nails | Beauty

Hey Guys,

So recently I've been enjoying having colourful nails, I'm not a fan of acrylic nails, so I've found myself being more creative, and keen to paint my fingers  (I used to be obsessed with painting my nails and the addiction slowly died out.. it seems it's coming back). This week I decided to experiment with rainbow, pastel colour nails which seemed perfect for the summer season (although the raindrops hitting my window doesn't quite say summer, still it is actually July).

This nail look was definitely a bit more exciting, and such a simple way to make nails a more interesting feature. I have also received a fair few compliments on my nail like this which is always nice!

 All the colours used for this nail look are from Barry M, as I've said before I am a big fan of Barry M nail polish (when I went through my phase of being obsessed with painting my nails, Barry M nail polish came alongside this. At one point I owned every nail polish they sold, crazy!), anyway they are affordable, long-lasting and have a good range of colours to choose from.
In the pictures you'll see I've included two shade of pink, this is because I originally used the paler pink and then decided to go over it with the dark pink as I felt that colour was much paler than the rest (so it's the darker pink in the photo of my painted nails)

It does not exactly nail art, I know, but it's certainly more interesting than plain nails!
