the bloggers market
A few weeks ago I saw Liv Purvis post a tweet about The Bloggers Market, I thought "that looks cool, I'd love to go to that.. oh it's in London, such a shame it's not in Bristol"... and then I realised that I am more than capable of getting to and from London, and I have a Uni friend in London... Bristol is really not that far, so why would I not go? So I booked a Megabus (gotta save the pennies) there and a train back (thought I'd treat myself to a train on the way home, considering getting there came to a total of £8).
My friend Jess was able to come along too - it gave us the perfect excuse for a much-needed catch-up and also meant I didn't have to go alone. Win-win.
I had a great day. Sadly, that did result in not taking as many photos as I would have liked (who else forgets about their camera when they're having too much fun?). We looked around all of the cute clothes (I only ended up getting a jacket - Jess and Ellie were a bit luckier with the shopping than me), we ate sweets, and we did a bullet journaling workshop with Ohh Deer.
It was lovely to see how normal and lovely all of the big bloggers are. Zoe and Liv both complimented my T-Shirt (thank you ASOS) and I felt very cool. I also got a selfie with Liv... I, of course temporarily forgot how my phone works... because we all know my blog is pretty much a What Olivia Did fan account, and Liv had to remind me how to put it onto Selfie mode (I tried to press the timer...smooth).
The Girls (Liv, Zoe, Carrie, Lucy, Kristabel and Kim) all did such a wonderful job organising the day - there were so many amazing quality pieces there, they set up space to Instagram heaven and everyone was so friendly and happy to be there, and of course, I got to see my friend Jess (and meet Ellie) which was lovely. A fab day all round.

3 Running Outfits
Wednesday, 14 September 2016
I'm sure recently I've banged on enough about how I'm trying to get a little fitter, so I'll try not to go on about that part too much now, instead, I want to talk about what I'm putting on before heading out the door for a run. When I go for a run I want to feel comfortable, but I also want to like what I'm wearing. When I went looking for work out clothes, I didn't want to spend too much as I'm not madly into fitness, so it kind of seemed like a waste of money. In the end, I think I got some pretty good pieces without breaking the bank, so I thought I'd share three of the different outfit I've been enjoying wearing for a run.
Before we get into it, I'll be honest, this post is a bit of a tease - when I got to adding the links, I realised a lot of these products are no longer available, but I've done my best to link similar products which you will hopefully find helpful.
With each of these outfits I've included some workout essentials, my iPhone with headphones, so I can listen to music and use my run keeper app, an arm strap for my phone because I need somewhere to put my phone, my Shock Absorber sports bra, the only one which I've found to keep my bigger bust in check while I'm exercising, my m&s water bottle (similar linked) and my Adidas trainers (no longer available, similar here), they may not be the coolest looking but they give the support and comfort I need during my workout.

So, here are some images of my final collection on the runway. As you can see I opted to make 4 women's outfits and two men outfits.
I am so proud to think how much I've grown up and all that I've learnt throughout my University experience, both when it comes to fashion, and life in general It's crazy to think I pretty much failed AS textile, twice, and soon enough I'll be graduating with a BA(Honours) degree in Fashion.
Fashion Graduate: My Final Collection
Sunday, 8 June 2014
I've finally made it to to the of my degree. As you may know, the third year of a Fashion degree usually consists of creating a final collection from initial inspiration through to designing and making the garments. You then showcase that collection of 6 outfits in a fashion show at the end of the year.
I opted to make both men's and women's clothing. My collection included two dresses, three tops, two pairs of trousers, a pair of culottes, a jumpsuit, two capes and even some leg and neck warmers. I used a range of techniques within my collection, such as quilting and knitting which became main features.

The build-up to the fashion show is very nerve-wracking, having worked so hard on the collection for months before. There's a lot of pressure for your garments to come out the way you'd imaged.
As a third-year student, I got to watch the show, leaving the dressing, hair, makeup and modelling to others, which left me feeling both relaxed and anxious at the same time. I knew anything that went wrong was out of my hands, which is both freeing and daunting. Thankfully nothing did go wrong, with my collection or throughout the entire show.

The show was a success and I am so proud of everyone involved, myself included. I couldn't have asked for it to have gone any better. It is really strange to think my three years of University are over. It has flown by. I'm quite terrified to think it's now time to start my adult life and find a real job... fingers crossed I'll fall into something I love.
