She Must Be Mad by Charly Cox
I have been obsessed with Charly's poetry since discovering her. It was reading her work that inspired me to start writing my own poetry, again. Still, She Must Be Mad has exceeded my expectations. It's broken down into 4 sections: she must in love, she must be mad, she must be fat and she must be an adult. The pieces are about relationships, mental health, body image, and growing up. To put it simply, I relate so much to this book, to the themes and to Charly's words. Here's what I wrote about it on my Instagram: "I’ve never related so much to another person's writing. Charly is a wizard with words, she creates beauty from the cruel inner workings of the mind. I feel hypnotised by her ability to string sentences together. Since I’ve had this book, I’ve read it every day, I’ve carried it everywhere I went and I’ve never found pages so worth the weight in my handbag."
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
The story lives up to the hype. From the very first page, I felt desperate to know more about Eleanor's character. The story is eye-opening, funny and heartbreaking. The characters are intriguing, strange lovely and terrifying. It touches on loneliness, on trauma, on friendship. It hooking, and clever. The ending is completely unexpected.
My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella
I didn't expect to love this 'chick flick' style book as much as I did, once I started reading it, I could not put it down. This book is based around the character Kat, who has a life which looks perfect on Instagram, from afar, but up close it's falling apart. It's about keeping up appearance.s Kat soon moves home and becomes Katie again. She's entangled in a web of lies, as she doesn't want to admit she lost her 'perfect' job and is hungry from revenge when her seemingly terrible old boss comes back into her life with no idea who she is. It's an easy read, the story is interesting and it's super relatable.
Glossier You Solid Perfume
When I wear this, I constantly find myself bringing my wrist to my nose to get a whiff because I love the scent, it probably makes me look crazy, but it's so worth it. I was unsure when I finish purchased it whether I'd enjoy the solid perfume format, but it seems I love it. It makes it handbag friendly, and still, it's easy enough to pop on - plus the packaging is cute and feels kinda luxurious. It's a fresh scent, which almost smells unisex.
Reason Cap (similar linked)
This cap first caught my eye when I was browsing Urban Outfitters months ago, and it seemed weeks later I found myself still thinking about it, so I treated myself. I love the vibrant, on-trend yellow. I think a cap suits me and adds a casual finishing touch to any outfit. Plus with this bizarre heatwave and my habit of fainting, having a hat to keep the sun from the head has been quite practical.
Pink Vans
Since buying myself these pastel pink vans I'm finding myself wearing them constantly, with everything. Not only do they work with any outfit, but they're comfy. Plus they're subtle way for me to add a touch of pink to my outfits because unlike everyone else, I'm still not over this whole millennial pink thing.
Beach Instax
This may be a strange thing to add to my favourites, but I felt it was worthy of a place. I took the black and white Instax photo on the beach in Portugal, mainly because I wanted to use the remainder of the black and white film. I, however, love the image so much - it's stuck beside my bed, and I keep finding myself admiring it. It's a little reminder to start playing with film photography, even if it just with my Instax because the results can be surprising and beautiful.
Zoella Drench Me
Yet again, I'm impressed with another Zoella Beauty Product. This product effortlessly creates amazing bubbles, it's lightly scented but not overly so. It only takes a small amount of product for a large number of bubbles. Plus, the packaging is really something isn't it? Zoe's design and marketing team need to give themselves a pat on the backs.
ASOS Face Necklace
To put it simply, I think this abstract face necklace looks really freaking cool, and I've been wearing it constantly.
Glossier Invisible Shield SPF 30
I love everything about this SPF, I spoke about it a lot here so I won't say too much now. Just know, it's completely invisible, easy to apply, and refreshing to use.
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Moisturiser
I bought this moisturizer as a bit of a throwback, I used to use it when I was around 18, seeing it in a store filled me with nostalgia, so I decided to give it ago all over again. Now, 100% don't have the target skin type for this, but still, it does the job. Plus, I'm in love with the scent, it's super refreshing and really wakes me up in the mornings.

6 Loves: Youtube Channels.
One of my favourite things to do on a rainy Sunday afternoon, besides eating a massive (meatless) roast dinner, is to get comfy and binge-watching my favourite Youtube Channel.
As it's nice to throw a little positivity and appreciation into the internet world I thought I'd share some of my current favourite channels with you, hopefully, you'll discover a channel you love too, or we might already share some mutual loves here.
Lily Pebbles - I'd say Lily is my all-time favourite Youtuber (I met her once, and she is also lovely). She is very down to earth and real in her videos, her personality is very likeable and she doesn't try to be perfect, which I like. Her videos are both casual and creative. She covers beauty, fashion, tech, and daily vlogging.
The Michalaks - If you want something beautiful to watch, the Michalak is the place to look. The family posts the most incredible weekly films of their life. The Michalak family consist of Stef (Dad), Hannah (Mum), Grayson (Son, 3year old), and they have recently just had the second child, a little boy. Watching their birthing video earlier today took my breath away. They are just very good people, creating content which is far beyond anything else I've seen on youtube.
Arden Rose - Arden posts a mixture of lifestyle, fashion and beauty videos. Her extroverted personality (and probably her experience in acting) shines through on camera as her videos offer plenty of her enduring personality. The quality of her videos are great, and they tend to include the sweetest little illustrations. She also has a great taste in fashion and I wish I were as cool and confident as she is.
MoreZoella - I couldn't not include Zoe's vlog channel. I get the same feeling watching Zoe's vlogs, as I do watching Gilmore Girls, they're just cosy and nice. They're usually pretty long, but they're always full of joy. Zoe is so likeable and normal despite all of her success, and her life is just a great one to watch.
Lucy Moon - Lucychannelnel is another one where there is a good mixture of creative and casual videos. Lucy's 168 vlogs are always beautiful and I feel the branding of Lucy's channel is on point - I could see one of Lucy videos and know it's hers. She is a very normal-seeming girl, who I think is also quite wise (seem like a questionable thing to say, but I imagine she gives the best advice). Her videos are always aesthetically pleasing and interesting. She also writes some music and occasionally posts singing/cover videos and her voice is stunning.

It was a struggle to narrow it down to six channels, maybe I'll do a part two in the future!

Zoella Lifestyle First Impressions
Like many bloggers, I was pretty excited to hear Zoella was bringing out a lifestyle range. I have always liked her beauty range (the hand cream is a saviour), however, as I'm definitely no longer in my teens (mid twenties actually... It makes me cringe a little when I say that!) I'm a little outside of the age group the Zoella Beauty range is aimed toward. However, I still find myself intrigued when there is a new Zoella release and interested to see what she creates, as I'm sure many 20-somethings are. I think Zoe may have realised this too, as her lifestyle range seems to have a slightly more grown-up vibe - it definitely seems covers a larger audience, I don't feel too old for these products, but I can see teens enjoying these bits and bobs, and even those a little older than myself. I have a weakness for stationery and candles, so of course, I was going to be obsessed with the range, and alongside this, I'm a complete sucker for a cheesy, yet inspirational quote and these seem to run through the aesthetics of the stationary.
On the day Zoella Lifestyle went to boots stores, I popped in to see what I could get my hands on. As it had gone midday, there already wasn't much of the range left in store (it must have seriously been leaving shelves fast!) However, I managed to pick up three of the things I was lusting after - The Once Upon A Time Notebook, The She Designed A Life She A Life She Loved Organiser/Stationary Book, and The Seaside Stroll Candle. I'm pretty impressed with these things so far, so I thought I'd give you the lowdown...
The notebook is A4, so it's a good size. The cover is a soft faux leather, and a lot more flexible than it looks, so which I really like. There are quotes written on the front, back and throughout the book. The quotes are a great way to gain that extra bit of motivation, inspiration, or even just a friendly reminder to stay positive. Alongside this, the quotes in the book are also ideal for dividing up the pages and working in sections. The text on the cover is embossed, in a stunning rose gold, which stands out against the grey, giving the notebook a sophisticated, yet eye-catching finish. To put it simply, it's a very pretty notebook, which pretty much shouts positive sayings at you - what more could you want from a notepad?!
This was one of the things I was most excited about from the launch. Similarly to the notebook, it follows the grey theme with the rose gold embossing of an inspirational quote (this also happens to be a quote I really love). It's smaller in size, which makes it much more handbag friendly. It closes neatly the use of a magnet, which I think is a little sleeker than an elastic band, and has an orange and white zig-zag post-it blogpost on being more productive, you'll know I mentioned that I find having too much on my to-do list overwhelming and counterproductive. This little list writing section is perfect to avoid that - there are a set number of spaces, and it's titled big plans - it's basically telling you only need to pop in important stuff down. Of course, anyone can use it as they please, but I will be using it for my big plans.
The right side of the book contains just one page which is set out as a mini weekly calendar. Each day is boxed in "hello Monday" with two sections per a day, a sun and a moon - night and day. This makes is really easy to map out of your week. My only complaint is, there is not much space for each day, however, that's the compromise you make for having such a compact organiser. There is also an option to write down the highlights of the week, and next week's goals. This is the perfect if you need to organise your time and stay positive.

I'm pretty pleased with all the bits I got for myself, and I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of the product Zoe has to offer. I think they products

An another slightly more unexpected loved from the range is the Body Fondant. I bought this purely out of curiosity as I'd never really tried a product like this before, and t I didn't really have high expectations, However, I was pleasantly surprised.
Zoella Sweet Inspiration Range
Yes, I've jumped on the bandwagon, with a post on the new Zoella beauty range, however with such adorable packaging why wouldn't you want to have photographs of it all over your blog, especially when there are people wanting to hear what others have to say about these products before purchasing, and for those who haven't been able to resist buying from the latest Zoella Beauty range, it's always interesting to see if others share the same opinion as you. Like most things which pass off our lips, there's is a reason people are talking about it, so I thought I'd have my say.
I kind of have mixed feelings about the collection. As I have touched on, the packaging is very pretty, and I think really echo's Zoe and the Zoella brand beautifully. The scent I also love. It's very sweet, but not sickly. I went into Superdrug and spritzed the fragrance to see what I thought, having smelt the fragrance I decided it was a winner and picked up a few bits; the Bath Latte, Body Cream, and Body Fondant. Throughout the rest of that day I found myself catching a whiff on the Body Mist, every now and then and falling more in love with the fragrance, so a few days later I returned to Superdrug and bought the rest of the range (besides the makeup bags, I have far too many of those already). As you can tell my very first impression of the range was pretty good. Now I've covered the aesthetics and the scent, let's get to the actual products.
I have found myself enjoying the Double Cream, the most. I have been looking forward to putting on my body moisturiser , which is a task I often find annoying and skip quite a lot. However, as I love this scent, and the thickness of this cream I am enjoying this step a lot more. This is definitely a product I'm going to repurchase. I like the scent, the formula, how it leaves my body feeling, the packaging, and the price. It's an all round win-win situation with this one.
The body fondant looks quite dark in the packaging. I opened it up and thought 'oh dear lord this is going to look ridiculous on my pale skin', which I was very wrong about. On the skin it offers a subtle iridescent shimmer and a small hint of warmth, yet has no effect on the colour of your skin. The best way I can think to describe this is a body highlighter which adds a subtle, healthy and pretty glow to your skin - which is perfect for me because I don't fake tan, but sometimes I do think it would be nice to give a little something extra to my skin. I like the balm formula to this also, it's not too heavy, or drying either. The body fondant also comes with a cute little puff for the application which is soft and makes for a quick and even finish. I do find a packaging of this one a bit odd. It's cute I know that, but the Zoella logo on the side of the lid is facing downwards, so they writing on the side looks upside down - or with the writing the correct way you have the ingredients and the boring bits at the top of the packaging, has anyone else noticed this? It's confused me slightly (I have just looked it up - it appears mine is the only one like this, what? Someone messed that packaging up).
From this range I was most excited for the bath products, I love a good bath (who doesn't?), so I was most excited when I saw Zoe was releasing her 'Bath Latte'. Straight after I purchased this I ran myself a bath and poured some in. I like the actual product, it smells great and produced lovely bubbles but I have been getting through it quite quickly. I have found you need to use quite a lot to create the super bubbly bath which I'd expected from a less of the product and the bubbles don't last as long as I would like, however, they may be partly because I tend to have the longest baths ever. I do really like the product, and for the price it's great, but I don't think it's any more special than any other bubble bath I've previously used. Also, the bottle is very sweet, but it would be so much more sophisticated (can packaging even be sophisticated?) if it were glass. However, you get what you pay for.
I felt somewhat disappointed with the Bath Salts. You get a lot of them considering the price, but I had a bit of a fail with opening them, as I pulled the plastic packaging apart, it did not come open as I expected, instead it ripped across the centre of the bag and bath salts went everywhere, which really was not ideal! However that could just be how I opened the packet rather than because of the actual packaging, and the outer box made this less of an issue as I could pop them back into the box with less worry about them spilling out of the broken bag. Again, I found I needed quite a lot of these bath salts to make a difference to my bath, which isn't necessarily a problem as there was so many in the packet. The bath salt infused my bath with that splendid sweet smell - however, they don't achieve much more than a faint pretty scent.
The bath fizz bar I found to have quite a similar effect to the bath salts it added a light scent to my bath, but not really doing a lot more than that, although it is quite satisfying to watch it fizz away in your bath. I also love the bar concept to this, it's a great way to allow you to easily break off the amount you want. I've found myself adding a line of this to each bath which is three squares, but if that's not enough for you can always add more.
Lastly, the Body Mist, the product which attracted me to the rest of the range. Firstly I 'll say this product feels a lot more pricey and therefore feels a lot more luxurious than you'd expect with it £8 price tag.
The scent I find it longer lasting and higher quality than I'd expect for a body mist so I've been using it as though it's perfume rather than a mist. I find this is a great scent to wear to work, because it smells lovely, and when used just on the neck, wrists etc as you would a perfume it is fairly subtle, yet very pretty and. of course it's such a good price you don't have to worry about using up your expensive fragrances on a daily basis, but still smell great.
I'm sorry for the length of this post, apparently, I had a lot more to say on the range than I'd realised .

Yesterday I finished reading Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. I know there has been a lot of talk about this book, especially in the blogging world. Rather than discuss the writer, whether that may have been Zoe or anyone else, I want to talk about the writing, story and the book.
Being 23, I am obviously slightly outside of the demographic this book was aimed at - I am no longer the young teenage girl, although I once was. However, I feel that's safe enough grounds to review this book as although it may not be written for me as I am not, it is aimed at the girl I was years back.
Despite being a little old for the story, I wanted to read it, mainly out of curiosity - having watched Zoe's videos for ages, I was interested to see what book she could bring. I have to say, I was pretty impressed, I found the story more intriguing than I imagined.
I finished the book in just a few days so, I clearly I was enjoying picking it up and reading it every night. The book was such an easy read, I think mainly because it is written aimed at teenagers - however, I liked that it was such an easy casual read, it didn't take too much thinking to read - the perfect book to read when you want to switch off and relax.
What I love about this book is how many issues that occur in modern-day society are covered, such as online bullying, homosexuality and anxiety. Problems which teenagers face a lot more regularly than I feel a lot of people realise, of course, these issues are subtly placed in a cute little love story with a pretty relatable main character (although I feel some of the other characters weren't quite so realistic).
The book was funny, sweet and relatable, I can understand why any teen girls would love it. Although aspects were quite unrealistic, is that really a problem when we read to escape reality?
I think you need to get through the first few chapters until the book becomes really enjoyable, but isn't that the case with most books?
All of the chapters are quite short, which I think makes it much more manageable if you're a slow reader or don't read often.
I have got to say I found the book pretty enjoyable on a casual level, although the book isn't quite so thought-provoking as others, it is a great story for teenage girls - the story reminds me a little of Notting Hill which is one of my favourite films!
I would love to hear some of your thoughts on the book.

I said in my recent New Year resolution blog post and video (blog post here) that this year I would like to read more. I have got to say, so far it is going pretty well, I have already read one new book this year!
Being 23, I am obviously slightly outside of the demographic this book was aimed at - I am no longer the young teenage girl, although I once was. However, I feel that's safe enough grounds to review this book as although it may not be written for me as I am not, it is aimed at the girl I was years back.
Despite being a little old for the story, I wanted to read it, mainly out of curiosity - having watched Zoe's videos for ages, I was interested to see what book she could bring. I have to say, I was pretty impressed, I found the story more intriguing than I imagined.

Reading List
Despite being the little book worm I am, whilst being at university reading was something I somewhat neglected. I either had far too much uni work to be getting on with, or living as a student there was always something, or someone to distract me. I, therefore, decided that when I finished uni the first thing on my do list (besides getting a job and figuring out what I want to do with my life, of course) was of course re-read my all-time favourite series, Harry Potter. I am now halfway through The Order of the Phoenix, and as I feel I will soon finish the series all over again, so I can't help but make a mental list of what I would like to read next now I am back into the swing of reading regularly, so I thought I'd share with my little blog what's on my reading list...
1) Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn
This book hardly needs an introduction, I'm sure you have all heard tonnes about it, especially since the recent movie release. I have only heard good things about this book, and definitely want to make sure I get around to reading it before I watch the film.
2) Not that kind of Girl - Lena Dunham
If I'm honest I don't know all that much about Lena Dunham, however, I've heard good things about this, and I'm curious.
3) The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern
Tanya Burr spoke about this book a few times in vlogs and a favourites video (and as we all know I'm Tanya's biggest fan), ever since hearing about it, I've been looking forward to reading it. I get the impression it is a really gripping read where you get lost in another world which is exactly what I love in a book.
4) Girl Online - Zoe Sugg
This is actually listed as a children's book and as I turn 23 in a few days I'm slightly out of the demographic... however I couldn't not include this. I'm super excited to get my hands on Zoe's book when it comes out, I'm just really curious to see what it is like, and I feel slightly more connected with it already as I know a lot more about the author than I do with most books.
5) Paper Towns - John Green
I have been a big fan of John Green since before all the hype around The Faults in our Stars as I read Looking for Alaska about 4 years ago and it has been my favourite book ever since, however still the only two John Green books I have read our The Faults in our Stars and Looking for Alaska as I mention I abandoned reading for quite a while, now I'm reading more and more I'm itching to pick up another book by John Green to see if he can impress me yet again. I've heard great things about Paper Towns so I'm really looking forward to reading this one.
6) #Girlboss - Sophia Amorusa
Another one I have heard good things about so I'm curious. Not my usual read but I think this could be really insightful and interesting.

That Zoella Article...
I trust you all know who the picture is?
It is hard to find somebody in the blogging world who has not heard of Zoella, and it seems to be that soon it will be hard to find somebody in the world beyond the internet who has not heard of the youtube star.
Arguably Zoe Sugg (aka Zoella) is fastest becoming one of the most famous faces of the internet, releasing a beauty line, a novel deal with Penguin and even having a feature in this month's Vogue.
Not your everyday things - yet from watching Zoe's vlogs she seems so incredibly normal and grounded.
Recently as Zoe has begun to hit the public eye beyond the realms of the internet, and we have begun to see more articles published about the youtube hit, all of which (as far as I know) have been positive, besides one - which I'm sure will stick in most of our heads.
If you don't know the article I am talking about, it is a piece published in The Independent earlier this week, but Chloe Haliton, you can find it here.
First reading the article I felt incredibly frustrated because she implies throughout that somebody who enjoys the fashion and beauty industry cannot be a positive role model for young girls - why? because they like the fashion and beauty industry - apparently. If a girl enjoys these industries they have nothing else to offer... now let's be honest, anyone who is thinking in a one dimensional way now?
Has Zoella not achieved more than a lot of girls will, beyond the beauty industry?
This article dumbs down the world of fashion and beauty, blogging and youtube - it is things like that that give society a negative outlook on women, it is about time people understood you can be passionate fashion about beauty without beauty stupid. There is more to a person than their love for these industries, and even if there weren't (which I think is far from the case with Zoella) at least they're passionate enough about something to have the balls to talk about it to millions.
Personally, I would be pretty pleased if over the many people in the public eye my children choose to see Zoella as a role model - she's normal, she doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, doesn't do drugs, she is creative, hardworking and successful. I know she is not a genius, a rocket scientist, or saving the world anytime soon, but as I said she is normal, and remaining so whilst constantly in the public eye I feel is admirable and refreshing when you consider the main young celebrities who have gone done a bad route.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying the beauty industry, yes there are more important things in life, but that does not mean makeup should be disregarded as something people can't enjoy. It is fun and creative. People need to get past thinking makeup is only used to cover up who we are, I for one do not see makeup in this way. Some days I will wear no makeup, with no consideration of what my plans are, I just might not fancy wearing make up some days, and other days I might wear a full face of makeup - because I feel like it. I don't wear makeup to cover up, I wear it to enhance aspects of my face, to experiment and have fun. Some days it is nice to make an effort, to try to look nice.
Makeup is not the devil. Ye,s Zoella talks about make up and beauty in her videos and blogposts because she enjoys it herself - the same way I speak about beauty product in my blog, because they interest me - does this make me a bad role model?
Also in many of Zoe's video she speak about how she is not a make up artist, how she doesn't always wear make up, and how she is making this videos because they have been requested.
Being a young teenage girl hitting puberty can be scary, you're body, skin, and mindset all begin to alter. I remember when I first began wearing make up, I had no idea what I was doing and I was too embarrassed to speak to my mum about how to put on make up, or what was okay to wear to school, I just copied my friends, who must have been as clueless as me. Thinking back I must have looked an absolute mess. It is an simple as, if young girls want to start wearing make up, they will. At least if they watch Zoella videos they might have some idea how to apply make up, and what is appropriate to wear casually to school - if she has saved a few girls from looking as though they have rolled in Doritos and have two black eyes, then well done her. At the end of the day, a video is a video, you don't have to watch it if you don't want to - but my guess is as Zoe is a beauty blogger/vlogger you'd only watch her videos if you're interested - there is nothing forcing anyone not interested in the industry to watch her tutorial and wear her back to school make up - but the option is there if you want to take it, and if people follow Zoe they will see from her vlog she see's it perfectly acceptable to not wear makeup.
I am going to finish this post up, because I feel I think been ranting about Zoella and make up for ages now. To round it up, personally I think if young girls want someone to see as a role model why not Zoella? I can think of some people far worse to admire.
The fact is Zoe (among others) started her blog and youtube channel, talking about fashion and beauty because there are the things she loves, the follows and subscribers came because so many people enjoy those industries, it's a community you can choose to be a part of, or not.
I feel the writer of that article lacked research, and although Zoe talks about make up because it am interest of hers, she also embraces her natural skin and is in no way forcing other to wear make up. I probably bias as although I am slightly out of the age range of Zoella usual demographics, I really like Zoe, and I feel she has done nothing to deserve the bad press.
If you have nothing nice to say, do not say anything at all.
