We have a tendency to stick with things because of what they once were, and what we hope they'll become again, rather than what they now are.
Relationships lose their spark, friendships fizzle and the sun sets on even the brightest of days.
When the vivid colours of a relationship fade, it easy to wish them back as you watch them dull. although something which was once wonderful is no longer there. As time ticks on while you sit back and watch something decay, the more you resent it for what it could have been for what it once was.
The thing is, what it could have been or once was, don't actually exist anymore, beyond the image in your head. It's not real. So why hold onto something mediocre for an idea, rather than something tangible. It does not exist, nor will it ever.
I've fallen in love before and held onto it for too long, and now I look back to that time with a bad taste in my mouth. The passion our feelings transformed from love to anger and hurt. I feel the sting by the toxic explosion each time it crossed my mind. Saying goodbye when the love fizzled would have been enough. The joy I felt when I lived in the midst of love would be at the forefront of my mind, it would not be overshadowed by the ugly thing it grew into.
It goes beyond the realm of romantic relationships. My friend and I recently spent the day together, and it was really the most wonderful day. We talk for hours on end, occasionally interrupting each other, as we're bursting to point out what a lovely time we were having. As it was heading towards the evening, we searched for somewhere new to have a drink, and suddenly there was an overwhelm of Friday night crowds, which transformed the previously serene atmosphere. We became aware of our purse strings, and the noise surrounding us. The magic of the day was over, so we skipped the drinks, and said goodbye. On my journey home a beautiful sunset filled the clear sky. Realistically if we stay out, we would I woke up thinking "urgh I feel so hungover" "Oh I hope I didn't spend too much" "I drank so much, how embarrassing". Instead, I woke up, feeling fresh at 8am, feeling happy about how great the day before was. And I got to see that beautiful sunset.

Life is short, and do you really have the time to waste on something that's not bringing you all of the joy you deserve, because it once did? Letting it become something which doesn't have the spinning in a world of happiness, only tarnishes what it once was. Once it becomes the bearer of disappointment, you soon forget the days it gave you a spring in your step.

You know sometimes predrinks are better than the night out?
Maybe that's because things don't always need to be dragged out, and as soon as the good time comes to a stop, rather than enduring having a shit time hoping for the good times to show there face again, maybe it's just time to head home.

Autumn Slouchy Knit || OOTD
Saturday, 25 November 2017
Another promised outfit post today.
I've found myself opting for something a little more casual and slouchy than my usual dress. Mainly because I've realised my style isn't set in stone and it's fun to experiment with clothes, I like to see how different fabrics work together and see how layering can change a look, and how clothes can alter a silhouette.
I find Autumn is the perfect time to experiment with fashion - it's not too hot to layer things us, and garments tend to be a lot more textured.
This outfit provides the ultimate comfort. The black ASOS culottes have become a staple in my wardrobe - considering I never wore trouser until about a year ago, this is a big deal. They just go with everything and the flared legs mean they add a little shape to any outfit. Plus I like how they move, and enjoy the slightly awkward length of them.

I'd decided to pair them with a pink fine knit jumper from ASOS. It's a little see-through so does require a vest/cami underneath. It's baggy in all the right places and cuffed on the sleeves making it the ultimate cosy, slightly over sizes piece. It's a fine knit, so can be both tucked or untucked.
This knit does scag quite easily, but I love how it looks nonetheless. Plus who doesn't love the shade of pink? I want all the pink knitwear I can get my hands on tbh.
Keeping with the comfy, pink and black theme I've got going on, I decided to wear it with my pink Nikes, and have some cute AF little socks poking through, because I just like how it looks - I just think socks can actually add a bit of something to an outfit, if you want them to, and I want them to.

Recently I've been feeling a little lost, style-wise. I have always felt I know what I like, until recently when getting dressed in the morning seems to become more of a challenge each day. A few days ago I found myself staring blankly at the contents of my wardrobe, as I do most days, and a black skirt, which had been pretty unloved hiding at the back of my wardrobe, caught my eye. It's a piece I rarely wear, and I'm not sure why. Last time I wore this skirt, I received a lot of compliments, and felt, well special - and who doesn't want to feel special.
I decided to pop this black skirt with a black blouse over a black cami, at first I wasn't sure if it gave off too many funeral vibes, - I mean black on black can do that, so I decided to be a little more daring and take off my black vest, and wear it with a pretty bra, to show the sheerness of the fabric - I've gotta admit, it a little more see-through than I would like, but it certainly makes the outfit a little more interesting. I love the pretty collar, and buttons down the front of this blouse - it's a nice detail and takes aways from the hey look at my boobs aspect for when I do decide to wear it with only a bra underneath.
It's definitely a bit of witchy look, but who doesn't love giving off those Halloween vibes, even during Spring?!
What do you think of this outfit? I think I might prevent somewhat to wear worries in occasionally.

I found myself admire the Tiger print jumpsuit in the window of Whistles for weeks, but I couldn't justify splashing on the jumpsuit simply because the tiger print is really freaking cool. I then I got invited to the evening of a wedding, and jumpsuit went on sale in the same week - so I felt as though felt as though the universe wanted to me to have the jumpsuit - and even if the universe didn't want me to have it, I wanted it enough.
As this jumpsuit is quite a statement piece, I found styling it to be a little challenging - in the end
I fell in love with some silver heels and decided the worked quite well against the navy of the jumpsuit.
To go with heels I picked up a small silver bag to put my bits in. The bag is quite small and if overstuff it, it does tend to pop open (as I'm sure you've noticed in a couple of the pictures). The jumpsuit, however, does have pockets, which excited me far too much! The pockets also stopped me worrying about the practicalities of having an iPhone 7+ and all the other handbag essentials to store and a tiny bag.
As for the jumpsuit - I am in love with it. It's silk - the fabric feels lovely and the quality of the garment is great. The only downside to the silk fabric is the creases, and panty lines can definitely show with the wrong underwear. It's a halter neck - so either a strapless bra or no bra is required as straps will definitely ruin the look.
The print is of tigers which I love. I think the tiger print is really effective because the tigers aren't initially obvious. The tiger has little orange eyes which bring another beautiful colour into the jumpsuit. I decided to go with orange tones nails and lips to tie in with the tiger's eyes, and I think it nicely finished off the look!
