November Round Up.
Friday, 30 November 2018
What I've been up to:
Firework displays and hot chocolate drinking
Autumn walks
Celebrating my 27th Birthday, which included lunch at the Giggling Squid with my Mum, and dinner and drinks with my friends.
Celebrating my friend Matts birthday, Jess' birthday and my brother Will's birthday - November is a busy month for me in the birthday department, I've found myself going for lots of meals and to the cinema this month.
Re-evaluating, figuring out what I want, and how to get there.

Earlier this week, I turned 27, so today, I thought I'd share somethings I've learnt along the way.
1) Nothing clears the mind, quite like a walk in the woods with friends.
2) You are the most important person in your life. I am the most important person in my own life. However selfish it might seem, always put yourself first.
3) Friendships change, and sometimes you need to let go of them. Not friendship needs to last forever
4) Not everyone will always agree with you and that really doesn't matter. Not everyone will like you, and that really doesn't matter either.
5) Kindness is always more important than it seems.
6) What you wear, who you spend your time with and the media you consume will affect how you feel.
7) Just because something looks good on paper, it doesn't mean it will be that way in reality. That goes for people, jobs and the lives of others as they're portrayed on social media.
8) If someone ghosts you, let them. There's no need to try to start a new conversation after they didn't reply. There no need to dramatically ask them what you've done wrong (nothing), and don't bother to call them out on it, you're better off using your energy elsewhere
9) The feelings can't be helped, but how you react to those feeling can be.
10) Never respond when you're angry.
11) You will make mistakes, but at some point, you've got to forgive yourself. Reliving things in your head, will not change the past.
12) You can survive without the relationship you feel dependent on.
13) It's always worth making your bedroom a nice place to be. Light candles. Make your bed every morning. Put your washing away.
14) Always pee before you paint your nails.
15) Give yourself a little longer than you think you need in the morning.
16) Mediation makes a huge difference.
17) At some point exercise stops feeling like year 10 PE lesson. You're better off to learn that sooner rather than later.
18) If you're uninspired, take a break. If you're a writer feeling uninspired, you're probably not reading enough, pick up a book.
19) Love doesn't matter as much as the romcoms make out.
20) Friendships require maintenance. You need to check in with your friends, be the one to organise meeting up. Send them flowers and let them know you appreciate them.
21) Spontaneous nights out are usually the best ones.
22) You've got to give yourself a permission slip - It's down to you, to let yourself do the things you want to, and be the person you want to be, nobody else. No one else will give you a green light to go for what you want, it's all on you.
23) No one knows you, like you. Listen to your intuition over other people
24) No feeling lasts forever.
25) Feminist are not 'hairy angry women'. They are strong, important men and women who want to make the world better for everyone.
26) What others choose to do with their body is nothing to do with anyone else. Whether somebody wants to change their gender, not shaving or say goodbye to make up. It only becomes your business when it's your body and your mind.
27) You're allowed to like what you like and want what you want.

Above, is a photo which was taken on my 26th birthday, and now, very soon I am turning 27.

Being 26, was kind of a big deal for me. I have a thing for the number 26, with no logical other than, I really like it, so, on turning 26 years old, I had big plans for the year, it was going to be the best year of my life. Well, I'm not sure that's completely true to say, but I feel like it's carried some good memories, 5 of my favourite memories from this past year.
26 began with a bang, I made an effort to really celebrate my birthday, going for a day out with my family and both meal and night out with my friends, indulging on all the special birthday feelings. Blog post on that here.

My friend Matt and I went for a weekend away in Vienna. Over those few days, I became very fond of the city. It's strange how a place can start to feel so familiar and comforting in such a short amount of time. By far, my favourites parts of it were the National Library and the incredible greenhouse which we just happened to stumble upon. Full blog post on the trip here.

4) A Summer of harbourside walks and aesthetically pleasing coffee shops with Kelsey
Summer was full of happy memories for me. The weather was incredible and therefore myself and my friend Kelsey spent a lot of time wandering along the harbourside, drinking coffee and sharing secrets. I laughed so much, fancied pretty much every barista, and it was wonderful.

This year, I went on a beach holiday, something which I hadn't done for years. I forgot how calming it is sitting on the beach, with a good book, the happiness that comes with feeling the waves as you laugh with friends in the sea. Full blog post here.
This memory is more recent, and I wanted to include it because it's pivotal to the rest of my life. This year, not so long ago, I left the job I'd work in for years because it wasn't on the career path I wanted to be on. So far it's been challenging, but that decision is something I know will change my life for the better. More on that here.
Now bring on 27, I'm excited to see what you've got planned for me!
Love always,

I recently turned 26. For some reason, I felt like a child again, as the fireworks lit up the sky in colourful blurs, in the night before my birthday (to put that into context, I was born November 6th, the day after bonfire night). It had been a couple of years since I felt the butterflies in my stomach build up in anticipation of what the next day might bring. There is no real reason that I reverted back to my childhood in the midst of turning 26. I just had a good feeling about this birthday, about being 26. I wanted my birthday to feel magic again, I wanted to feel special again, so I did.
26 has always been my lucky number, with no real reason, I think when I was younger I picked a number I liked and it stuck, for me, that was enough reason to allow myself child-like excitement this year.
As my birthday was on Monday this year, I celebrated with friends the weekend before, we went for a meal in Browns, which was a stunning setting, the food was great, and we're probably not classy enough to be in there, which made it so much greater. I wore this Zara dress which made me feel beautiful and just enjoyed catching up with a lot of my closest friends, over delicious food and rosƩ wine.
On the Saturday before my birthday, I went on a night out with a couple of close friends, we drank, we dance and had a great time (sadly, we didn't take any photos, on a lot of the best night you don't)
On the night before, myself, and some close friends went to see a firework display. We drank hot chocolate and enjoyed the sky being lit up with pretty lights. Although this technically was not a birthday celebration, it made my pre-birthday weekend even more special so I thought it deserved a mention.
On my actual birthday day, I vlogged, so if you wish you can watch that below or on my Youtube Channel. I had a lovely day, which I spent with my Mum, Sister and Auntie, we explored Tetbury, wandered through all of the knick knacky shops, which we filled with both a mixture of gems and junk. We then went for lunch in the Close Hotel - the food was incredible, it was so delicious. I was, of course, pretty much full after my Calamari starter than I ended up taking home half of my mushroom pasta (it was so yummy I couldn't leave behind) and had to give the dessert a miss.
Alongside great food, The Close Hotel also made a lovely setting. - The grounds outside are beautiful, on a warmer day, I'd love to explore them more. Inside was also lovely, besides a questionable choice in blinds, they pretty much had the interiors down.
I later headed home and had a birthday nap, because a birthday is a perfect excuse to do anything I want, and I wanted to nap (I say like I don't nap most days, lol)
I hope you enjoyed the diary-style post - and don't mind the mix-match of both camera and phone photos - I thought I'd include the pictures which maybe are not quite blog-worthy for quality memories sake.
Please watch my vlog from the day too!
I'm excited about 26 - the first few weeks have been pretty great!

Let's Catch Up - Easter Weekend
Monday, 28 March 2016
As I type this blog post out it is around 1pm on a Monday - not my usual blogging time, my usual work time. However today it is Easter Monday my work uniform has been traded in for my comfy PJs .
I thought I'd have a little catch up with you today, and tell you about my Easter Weekend. Rather than the much too short, two day weekend, being Easter Weekend I've had a four day weekend, which I feel was a much-needed break from the day job.
On Friday the 25th March, it wasn't just Good Friday at my house, it was also, my older sisters 26th birthday. Which of course meant presents, cake, yummy breakfast and all round good vibes.
I and Mum decided to get Easter Cupcakes for Kerry's Birthday as it was fitting with Kerry's Birthday falling on good Friday , and how cute are they?
My sister went off shopping for the day, so I spent the rest of the day writing blog posts, taking photos, planning and filming videos. I felt very productive, and very much in my happy place.
I sat down with my laptop, a cup of tea, and of course, it would be rude to not have a hot cross bun on Easter weekend.
To be completely honest, the Saturday was a complete contrast to the previous day - I spent most of the day in my pyjamas, watching Pretty Little Liars, having a bit of a down day. I'm not going to go into details but there are some days we don't feel great, right? Well, that was one of those days for me. I just felt a little sad, and unsatisfied with my current situation - but moods are temporary, eh? Just because I was having on a bad day , it didn't mean I had to have an all-round crappy easter weekend.
Early evening my sister spotted a beautiful rainbow outside her bedroom window, so of course she called me and my camera to get a picture. It was a nice little reminder that things we're as bad as they felt.
Easter Sunday I woke up, on the right side of bed this time, showered and got ready. Benji, a close friend was passing through Bristol, so he decided to say hello. We went for a lovely pub lunch, and then headed to Blaise Castle to have an Easter Walk, which was quite refreshing and a nice way to get out of the house. We then went back to mine, had a cup of tea and a much needed catch up. It was a really lovely day - I just wish that when I packed my camera in my bag I checked there was a memory card in there. So I had to make do with a few iphone snaps , but there's nothing wrong with that.
And that leaves today. It is another Pyjama day for me, a happier one however - to be spent writing and photographing - in my happy place. Before back to the reality of work tomorrow.
How have you spent Easter Weekend?

Birthday Preparations.
Wednesday, 16 March 2016
As I type away at the blogpost, it is the evening of my mums birthday. Without being too cringe, my Mum is my favourite person ever, so I wanted to make her birthday special, as she does every year for me. I booked the day off work so we could have a nice day together, which we did (I also vlogged, which will be up on my youtube channel Sunday).
I wanted Mum to come downstairs in the morning and be surprised to see the room set up all pretty with birthday things, you know what I mean right? I wanted her to come downstairs and think how lucky she is, and what I wonderful start to her birthday.
Despite my day off work, my 6am alarm stayed on, which I've got to be honest was pretty painful, but I dragged myself out of bed to blow up balloons while I drank my morning coffee. After blowing up the pack of balloon I bought the previous day, I headed downstair. Of course I popped up a Happy Birthday sign. We have a Birthday sign which we always get out - however I didn't realise it had got a little crushed and ripped in the drawer, but it was nothing a bit of tape couldn't fix, although I half wish I got a new one, it did the job.
I then sprinkled some balloon confetti on the table and laid out the presents for mum. I bought the most gorgeous floral wrapping paper from Waterstones, which I added brown string bows to, and then used brown wrapping paper with pink ribbon and white lace to wrap the remaining presents, so I had a pink theme. Luckily my brother and his girlfriend used wrapping paper which fitted in quite well, a green a pink floral paper with a pink bow.
My mum is not massively into birthday cake, so I didn't see the point in getting birthday cake, however cake is surely a birthday requirement so I wanted some type of replacement. I came across these little cake bites in M&S and thought they were perfect - so I got some mini carrot cakes, coffee cakes and some 'afternoon tea' cakes, and popped them onto to a pretty cake stand - they were also delicious.
I think my mum was pretty happy when she came downstairs and saw the effort I'd made. We had the most lovely day together, which you'll hear more about in my video sunday.

Turning 24...
Saturday, 14 November 2015
A week ago I had my 24th birthday - crazy I know, only feels like last week that I celebrated my 18th birthday and I definitely don't feel old enough to be 24 (not that 24 is old, just older than I feel). I had the best birthday so I wanted to share it with you! Unfortunately my camera was being repaired on the day, so IPhone 6 quality photos are the best I can do.
Once we were all shopped out, we headed to Berwick lodge for the most wonderful afternoon tea.
The building was beautiful, had a room to ourselves and some very yummy sandwiches, scones and cakes, with, of course a classic cup of English breakfast tea. It was the perfect ladies afternoon.
I managed to get my birthday off work - however I didn't get a lie in as my Mum and Sister also had the day off which meant they planned the day out for me. I woke up in the morning to balloons and a pile of presents. All of which were wonderful and thoughtful (and will be appearing in the future blogpost).
Once I'd opened my presents, my auntie Carol appeared at the door to wish me happy birthday and join us for the day.
In the morning we headed to the Mulberry outlet store to have a look around. Which was great, I love a bit of window shopping, especially for Mulberry, I even treated myself to a little purse - well it was my birthday after all.
Of course we had to have a little coffee and cake pick me up before looking around a few other shops.

Once I got home from a lovely day with my favourite ladies in my family, I went to see my the rest of my favourite girls. Myself and a few friends had a take away, watched some fireworks (the upside to having your birthday the day after bonfire night). and had a much needed catch up with each other - it was the nicest night in!
It was the nicest birthday spent with some of my favourite people who made it really special.
I'd love to hear how you'll be celebrating your next birthday.
