I thought I'd share with you an outfit I've been enjoying wearing lately. Now I know it's probably not the most flattering, especially with all the mince pies I have eaten over christmas, however every time I throw this on I get a compliment or two.

The dress was a huge bargain for H&M, I think it was about £12, yet I get so much wear out of it. The skater shape means it nips you in at the waist (I know, I completely hide that with the over size cardi, but at least I know my waist is there, right?), and the pretty feather pattern just adds a bit of something to the dress. It is a tad short, but I constantly wear tights, so it makes no difference.

I decided to team the dress up with a green over sized cardigan - I know, this really shouldn't work, but that's what I like about it.
The cardigan came from a charity shop I'm afraid so I'm not too sure where it's a orginally from, nonethless, I love it. It has some detail stitched into it which gives it a more unique finish, and I've never came across anything similar. It's also big and cosy, so it warms up any outfit, making the dress I'm wearing here suitable for the winter weather, despite that with the fine straps and the short skirt.
I decided to keep the accessories simple, teaming it up with a black backpack (for Urban Outfitters) and black heeled ankle boots (from Dune).

I definitely like this outfit for all of the wrong reasons, I love the mismatch of pattens, the mix of the monochrome against bright green, and the combination of the oversized jacket and short dress.

It may not be everyones cup of tea, but this is an outfit I've been enjoying wearing a lot recently.
What do you think of this look?
