I am sure most of the blogging world already has The Urban Decay Naked Palette (discontinued, similar linked). There is so much hype surrounding this product I can't believe I have only just got my hands on one.

I had been itching to get my hands on the Urban Decay Naked Palette for the longest time but put off purchases due to the steep price tag, so when I opened it on Christmas day I was pretty pleased, and couldn't wait to try it out. I have been using this palette almost constantly since Christmas day, although I have to be honest, I haven't been quite as experimental as I could have been, and have been mainly sticking to the lighter colours.

For those of you who aren't familiar with this palette (is there anyone?!), it is a neutral-toned eyeshadow palette with both matt and shimmer colours. I like having a mix of both matt and shimmer colours in one palette, as I often wear both a matt and neutral shade on my eyelids together. Having said this, although I like all of the colours in this palette, I'm sure you get some drugstore dupes with similar colours for a fraction of the price.

The eyeshadows are all very creamy, meaning they apply smoothly, and blend easily. The colours are fairly long-lasting, however, I've used to cheaper eyeshadow pallets with the same, if not longer staying power, and I do find the colour crease ever so slightly when worn for a while. However, with a primer, I'm sure they wouldn't budge at all.

I was actually really impressed by the brush in the palette, which I didn't expect at all - it's double-ended and very soft, unlike brushes which usually come with palettes, this one won't be completely abandoned, although I won't use it every day, I will get some use out of it, and it will be very useful especially when it comes to travelling.

I really like the packaging this palette comes in, it's nice and slim, has a mirror, and as I said a brush which is great if you want to take it on the go at all. I also love that there is a name for each shade on the packaging which you don't get on all palettes - it just makes things easier than having to describe any colours. The only part of the packaging I'm not too keen on is the velvet outside, I find it tends to pick up dust ever so slightly.

So far I have got the most use out of the shades Sin, Toasted, Virgin and Naked - as you can see I have been playing it safe with the lightest neutral colours, however, I am looking forward to my next night out so I can experiment with a more dramatic smokey eye using Creep and Gunmetal.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with the product and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it, having said that I think there are some pretty good dupes out there such as the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette. It's a great palette, but I think it was never going to completely live up to the hype, I'm still very happy with the product (... and I still may treat myself to the Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes).
